  • Publication number: 20180129404
Abstract: An occupancy sensing electronic thermostat is described that includes a thermostat body, an electronic display that is viewable by a user in front of the thermostat, a passive infrared sensor for measuring infrared energy and an infrared energy directing element formed integrally with a front surface of the thermostat body. The passive infrared sensor may be positioned behind the infrared energy directing element such that infrared energy is directed thereonto by the infrared energy directing element. The thermostat may also include a temperature sensor and a microprocessor programmed to detect occupancy based on measurements from the passive infrared sensor.

  • Patent number: 9959007
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes displaying one of a number of graphical user interfaces (GUIs) of one or more applications as a card on top of a card stack. One or more of the cards in the card stack corresponds to a GUI of a home screen of the computing device. Each of one or more of the cards in the card stack corresponds to one of the GUIs of an application. The application controls presentation of their GUIs as cards in the card stack. The method also includes receiving user input to display another one of the GUIs as the card on top of the card stack; and, in response to the user input, displaying the other one of the GUIs as the card on top of the card stack.

  • Patent number: 9933937
Abstract: A portable electronic device with a touch screen display displays a first list of information about online video items in a plurality of lists. The device displays a plurality of icons corresponding to at least some of the plurality of lists. In response to detecting a moving finger gesture on the first list, the device scrolls the first list. In response to detecting a stationary finger gesture on a first portion of a row in the first list, where the row contains information about a particular online video item, the device: initiates a request for the particular online video item from a remote computer, receives the particular online video item, and plays the particular online video item. In response to detecting a finger gesture on a respective icon in the plurality of icons, the device displays a corresponding list of information about online video items.

  • Patent number: 9857941
Abstract: An electronic device displays one or more thumbnails. The device detects a first multi-contact gesture that includes movement of a first contact and a second contact; and, in response to detecting the first multi-contact gesture, the device displays content associated with a respective thumbnail and enlarges the content associated with the respective thumbnail to a respective enlarged size in accordance with the first multi-contact gesture. The device detects termination of the first multi-contact gesture; and, in response to detecting termination of the first multi-contact gesture: when a resizing metric based on the first multi-contact gesture is below a predefined threshold, the device ceases to display the content at the respective enlarged size; and, when the resizing metric based on the first multi-contact gesture is above the predefined threshold, the device displays the content on the display in a predefined arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20170329481
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes, by a server computing device, providing first instructions to a client device to display a user interface including a first icon associated with a third-party system and a share shutter button, a selectable button to capture and designate one or more media items for sharing. The method includes receiving one or more selections of the share shutter button. The method includes providing second instructions to the client device to display, for each selection of the share shutter button, an animation indicating that the media item has been captured and designated. The second instructions include instructions to display a copy of the media item centered in the user interface and instructions to dimensionally reduce the copy of the media item while moving the copy toward a location of the first icon associated with the third-party system until the copy disappears from the user interface.

  • Patent number: 9778921
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods for creating, exporting, sharing, and installing graphics functional blocks are described herein. In one embodiment, a selection is received from a graphical user interface (GUI) for one or more patches of multiple linked patches representing a graphics composition. In response to the selection, a dependency analysis is performed to determine one or more related patches that have a dependency relationship with the selected patches. Based on the dependency analysis, source code associated with the selected patches and the related patches is extracted without extracting source code of unselected and unrelated patches. Thereafter, the selected patches, the related patches, and the extracted source code are exported into a composition file to be shared with another user. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

  • Patent number: 9772751
Abstract: A first user interface is displayed without concurrently displaying a second user interface that is distinct from the first user interface. A gesture to select the second user interface is detected on the touch screen display. In response to detecting the gesture, an animation is displayed of a transition from display of the first user interface to display of the second user interface. The animation comprises sliding a first element of the second user interface onto the display from a first side of the display while simultaneously sliding a second element of the second user interface that contacts the first element horizontally across the top of the first element. The first element of the second user interface is distinct from the second element of the second user interface.

  • Patent number: 9702721
Abstract: On a mobile device a “live” network-based query for search is performed (e.g., performed automatically) in response to a map display update or other trigger event. In some implementations, when the map display is updated (or other trigger event occurs) a network-based map service is queried to obtain information related to the current location of the mobile device. The information can be presented on the map display. In some implementations, when multiple search results matching the query are provided by the map service, a confirmation request is presented on the mobile device to allow the user to select a search result. The selected search result (e.g., a destination) can be presented on the map display. A route from the current location of the mobile device to a destination can be drawn on the map display.
