  • Publication number: 20110083938
Abstract: The invention relates to a handrail (1), used in particular for escalators or moving walkways, comprising a plurality of grip elements (10) or grip segments (10)arranged next to one another. The grip elements or grip segments (10) consist of a base body (11) that has an outer shell (12) or cover layer (12) and several inner chambers (15) delimited by the outer shell (12) or cover layer (12). The base body (11) has many or several reinforcing ribs (16 to 20 and 16? to 20?, 35 and 35? and 36 and 54). The outer shell or cover layer (12) is continuous in a grip region (13). The reinforcing ribs (16 to 20 and 16? to 20?, 35 and 35? and 36 and 54) divide the interior (15) into separate, independent chambers (21-24, 37-38, 55). This provides excellent thermal insulation and excellent soundproofing or noise insulation.

  • Publication number: 20110067974
Abstract: The handrail has an at least partially coated outer shell (3). To allow the coating (15) to comprise at least one layer consisting of a metal and/or at least one metal compound, according to the invention the handrail is formed from a plurality of grip elements (1, 1?), located on a power transmission belt. Adjacent grip elements (1, 1?) can be pushed inside one another, tilting said grip elements (1, 1?) in relation to one another without producing deformations of said elements (1, 1?) in the bent region. For this purpose, each grip element (1) has an interior chamfer (8) or recess (8), which is used to overlap an external chamfer (9?) or recess (9?) of the adjacent grip element (1?), allowing the elements to be pushed inside one another or tilted in relation to one another. It is advantageous if the outer shell (3) is double-walled with an outer wall (17) and an inner wall (18).

  • Publication number: 20100320058
Abstract: The invention relates to a tread element (20) for a conveyor such as an escalator or moving sidewalk. The tread element (20) comprises a tread plate (22) having a tread surface (22.1) and a strip (30), preferably of a plurality of strip elements (40, 50) on the tread surface (22.1). A fixing arrangement has a first groove element and a second tongue element, one element being attached to the tread plate (22) and the other element to the strip elements. The two elements cooperate to prevent movements of the strip elements (40, 50) relative to the tread element (20) from the tread surface (22.1) away. Interacting stop surfaces on the strip elements and on the tread plate are designed to prevent movements of the strip elements in the direction of mounting, opposite to the direction of mounting and perpendicular to the direction of mounting and in parallel to the tread surface (22.1).

  • Publication number: 20100282570
Abstract: The step (1) comprises cheeks (5) which are manufactured from deep drawing sheet metal, and a tread element (22) and a deep drawn seating element (24). The arc (BO1) of the seating element (24) follows a first radius (R1) in the upper region and a second radius (R2) in the lower region, wherein the second radius (R2) is somewhat smaller than the first radius (R1). The sheet (BO1) of the seating element (24) merges smoothly at the line (ÜR) from one radius into the other radius. By way of the two radii (R1, R2), the size of the step gap between the tread element (22) and the seating element (24) of the adjacent step is independent of the position of the step gap; the step gap always remains very small, for example smaller than 2.8 mm. As a result, the risk of clothing items, sharp objects, shoes, children's fingers and so on getting jammed is reduced considerably.

  • Publication number: 20100218442
Abstract: The invention relates to a deep-drawing method and a corresponding deep-drawing device. The deep-drawing device has at least two projections (112) and at least two corresponding lamellar gaps (102) in a die (106), the width and positioning (Pi) of the lamellar gaps (102) being adjustable. Folding of a metal sheet (10) is brought about by closing the lamellar gaps (102). During the subsequent deep-drawing process, the projections (112) are lowered into corresponding recesses (103). Flat metal sheets (10) as well as previously corrugated metal sheets (10) can be folded and deep drawn by means of the deep-drawing device and the deep-drawing method.

  • Publication number: 20100213025
Abstract: The step support (17) or plate support comprises a rear crossmember (22) and a front crossmember (24) which together form a plane (E3) for receiving the tread element (9). There are two outer step cheeks (20.1, 20.2), wherein one of the step cheeks (20.1) is arranged on the right and one of the step cheeks (20.2) is arranged on the left, substantially perpendicular with respect to the crossmembers (22, 24). The two crossmembers (22, 24) are manufactured from deep-drawing sheet metal and are welded or joined or riveted or screwed or adhesively bonded or clinched to the step cheeks (20.1, 20.2) or plate cheeks to form a load-hearing frame. The height (H2) of the crossmembers (22, 24) at its ends is smaller than the height (H3) of the crossmembers (22, 24) in the center, with the result that the crossmembers (22, 24) have a curved shape.

  • Publication number: 20100206692
Abstract: The escalator step (1) or the travelator plate comprises a step skeleton (2) or a plate skeleton which carries at least one tread element (22). A first cheek (3), a central cheek (4), a second cheek (5), a carrier (6), a bridge (7) and a bracket (8) form the step skeleton (2). For each cheek (3, 4, 5), a sheet metal blank is stamped from a sheet metal strip and is subsequently formed into the cheek by means of deep drawing processes. The carrier (6), bridge (7) and bracket (8) connect the cheeks (3, 4, 5), wherein the components are welded by means of spot welding processes. The carrier (6), bridge (7) and bracket (8) are produced endlessly from sheet metal coil by means of a rolling deformation process and are cut to length depending on the step width.

  • Publication number: 20100018148
Abstract: Method of producing a load-bearing steel construction connection, wherein a clinch connection (13) connecting a first metal workpiece (6.1, 6.2) with a second metal workpiece (6.3, 6.4) is formed by local deformation by means of a die tool (20) and a counter-tool (30). In that case initially the first metal workpiece (6.1, 6.2) and the second metal workpiece (6.3, 6.4) are placed one on the other on a processing surface of the counter-tool and aligned. The die of the die tool is then advanced and sunk into the two metal workpieces (6.1, 6.2; 6.3, 6.4) placed one on the other until the clinch connection (13) has been formed by plastic deformation. The first metal workpiece (6.1, 6.2) has a first workpiece thickness (t1) and the second metal workpiece (6.3, 6.4) has a second workpiece thickness (t2), which together give a total workpiece thickness (tt) which is thicker than 8 millimetres.
