  • Patent number: 9914633
Abstract: A fuel transfer system for use with a motor vehicle includes a stationary module configured for permanent installation in the motor vehicle and a portable module configured for a detachable connection to the stationary module. The stationary module has a fuel fitting arranged in fluid communication with the fuel line between the fuel sending unit and the engine, a first fuel conduit connected to the fuel fitting and to a first transfer connector. A first normally closed valve is arranged in the first transfer connector. The first transfer connector is configured to be secured to a motor vehicle, for example next to a fill neck behind a filler door of the vehicle. The portable module has a second fuel conduit having a second transfer connector on one of two ends and a fueling nozzle connected to the other one of the two ends of the second fuel conduit.

  • Patent number: 9862081
Abstract: A rebuild tool for a motorcycle fuel tank quick connect fuel tank fitting has a mandrel tool with at least one post extending from a body portion. The post has an internal bore and an axial groove. A generally cylindrical bushing has an internal bore enabling the bushing to be disposed on the at least one post. The bushing forms an axial slit. At least one O-ring capture hook may be installed onto the mandrel tool within the axial groove and locked into place by rotating the bushing on the post. The assembled mandrel tool including the bushing and the O-ring hook is dimensioned to be inserted into the fuel tank fitting for removing at least one of the O-rings. A sleeve element has a bore enabling the sleeve element to be disposed on the post, and a stem element has an enlarged head and a reduced diameter stem section.

  • Patent number: 9752957
Abstract: A fuel system pressure tester for motorcycles adapted to be connected in-line with a fuel tank female fitting and a fuel line male fitting, has a fitting body, a first fitting for connection with the fuel tank fitting with an internal, normally closed valve, a second fitting for connection with the fuel line fitting, a pressure gauge, and a manually operated valve with a valve actuating element and a connection for a fuel hose. The fitting body has an internal passageway connecting the first fitting, the second fitting, the pressure gauge, and the manually operated valve. A method of testing a fuel system of the motorcycle involves connecting the pressure tester to the fuel tank by connecting the male tester fitting with the fuel tank female fitting, and connecting the female tester fitting with the fuel line male fitting, energizing the in-tank fuel sending unit, and reading pressure within the tester indicated by the pressure gauge.

  • Patent number: 9188092
Abstract: A fuel transfer system for use with a motor vehicle of the type having a fuel tank and a fuel sending unit in the fuel tank for pumping fuel thorough a fuel line to the vehicles engine when the engine is idling where the fuel transfer system allows fuel in the fuel tank to also be delivered to an auxiliary fuel vessel such as another fuel tank, a fuel container, or an engine powered machine is provided. Embodiments of the present invention include features for draining the fuel transfer system when it is not in use for filling an auxiliary fuel vessel.
