  • Patent number: 10303187
Abstract: Described are systems and techniques configured to determine and present information to a user of a materials handling facility. As the user moves through the facility, information is dynamically presented to the user on one or more displays using a user interface. The user interface may be presented on the display as the user approaches, and presentation may cease as the user moves away. The amount of information, size of elements presented on the display, and so forth may be based on kinematic data about the user. The kinematic data may include position, speed, orientation, and so forth.

  • Patent number: 9863647
Abstract: A bypass valve is for support between hot and cold water lines that connect to respective hot and cold fixtures. The bypass valve includes a valve body having an internal chamber, a hot water inlet port, a hot water outlet port and a discharge port; a bi-metal spring; a support member for mounting the bi-metal spring within the internal chamber of the valve body; and a shuttle mounted to the bi-metal spring and constructed and arranged to mate with the discharge port in a closed position of the bi-metal spring. The bi-metal spring assumes an open position to disengage from the discharge port at a predetermined water temperature to enable the hot water to discharge through the discharge port to the cold water line.

  • Patent number: 9720028
Abstract: There are disclosed apparatus and methods for testing a live circuit powered from an alternating current (AC) voltage. A live circuit tester includes a spread spectrum time domain reflectometer (SSTDR) configured to perform SSTDR measurements of the live circuit and a memory storing one or more ignore distance values. A processor coupled to the SSTDR and the memory detects a potential fault in the live circuit based on results of one or more SSTDR measurements, the potential fault associated with a distance from the apparatus. The processor compares the distance associated with the potential fault with each of the one or more ignore distance values, and stores, in the memory, data defining the potential fault if the associated distance does not match any of the one or more ignore distance values.

  • Patent number: 9588169
Abstract: There are disclosed apparatus and methods for testing a live circuit powered from an alternating current (AC) voltage. A zero crossing detector detects zero crossings of the AC voltage. A spread spectrum time domain reflectometer (SSTDR) coupled to the zero crossing detector performs measurements of the live circuit, each measurement synchronized with a zero crossings of the AC voltage. A processor coupled to the SSTDR detects faults in the live circuit based on correlation data provided by the SSTDR.

  • Patent number: 9049568
Abstract: Credit card transaction authorization is performed using ad-hoc, short-range wireless links to obtain item identification information from items that include ad-hoc short range wireless link transmitters and that are carried by a user who is associated with a prospective credit card transaction. Authorization information for the prospective credit card transaction is generated based on the item identification information that was obtained. Location information for a wireless terminal that is associated with the user and/or Internet Protocol (IP) address information for a transaction terminal that is associated with the transaction may also be used. Related systems, devices and computer program products are also described.

  • Patent number: 8382758
Abstract: An elevator assembly includes a vertical shaft carrying a lower horizontal jaw held in fixed position relative to the shaft. The shaft carries an horizontally extending dorsal plate that can adjust vertically relative to the lower jaw by means of the vertical shaft. A targeting wing couples to the elevator shaft and is selectively adjustable up and down along the shaft by means of an elevator adjustment screw. The targeting wing includes at least one horizontal slot that is adapted to slideably receive a soft tissue protector and needle assembly. The soft tissue protector can lock in the slot of the targeting wing by rotating its oval body about 90-degrees clockwise.
