Patent number: 8511502Abstract: A litter bin includes a lid hingeably connected to a container. Opposite the hinge, a latch selectively secures the lid to the container. The latch includes a pivotably mounted latch member that has a center of gravity offset from its pivot point. The latch member also includes a catch portion that moves between a locked position and an unlocked position upon pivoting of the latch member. Because the center of gravity of the latch member is offset from the pivot point, tilting the litter bin causes pivoting of the latch member, thereby moving the catch portion from the locked position to the unlocked position.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2009Date of Patent: August 20, 2013Assignee: Rehrig Pacific CompanyInventor: Michael P. Wong

Publication number: 20110218451Abstract: Described herein are passive nasal device having a resistance to exhalation that is greater than the resistance to inhalation. Also described are devices, methods and systems for sensing and measuring intranasal pressure when a subject is wearing a passive nasal respiratory device that is configured to inhibit exhalation more than inhalation. Also described are adapters for nasal devices and methods of using a nasal device adapter. Adapters may be used so that a passive nasal device may be applied indirectly in communication with a subject's nose; in some variations this may allow the passive nasal device to be re-used. Also described herein are nasal devices having a billowing airflow resistor that is configured to have a greater resistance to exhalation than to inhalation.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 15, 2009Publication date: September 8, 2011Inventors: Danny Yu-Youh Lai, Arthur Ferdinand, Michael P. Wong, Elliot Sather, Rajiv Doshi, Bryan Loomas, Toru Mino, Jonathan Patrick Summers, Arthur G. Sandoval, Jonathan Downing, Jeffrey W. Servaites, Ryan K. Pierce, Motohide Hatanaka

Patent number: 7448493Abstract: A bottle carrier includes a base and one or more arms extending downwardly from the base. The arms include an inwardly facing surface for contacting a neck of a bottle, and also include an inwardly extending tab having an upper surface for supporting a lip on the neck of the bottle. The tabs further include a lower surface angled away from the base as it extends away from the bottle. Upon insertion of a bottle into a bottle receiving area defined by the arms, the upper surface of the bottle contacts the lower surfaces of the tabs, thereby causing at least one of the arms to deflect outward, permitting insertion of the bottle cap and lip on the neck of the bottle into the bottle receiving area. Once the lip of the bottle is inserted past the tabs, the arms return toward their undeflected position, with the tabs positioned below the lip, retaining the bottle in the bottle neck receiving area.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2003Date of Patent: November 11, 2008Assignee: Rehrig Pacific CompanyInventor: Michael P. Patent number: 6994216Abstract: A storage container includes a corner support extending across each corner and supported on an upper edge of each of the two adjacent walls in the corner. Each corner support is hingeably connected to one of the two adjacent walls. The corner support is supported on an upper surface of a column projecting inward from each adjacent wall. A ledge also protrudes inward from each column and supports a leg extending downward from the corner support. A third ledge is formed on an inner surface of the corner and supports a third leg extending downward from the corner support. Each corner support is pivotable about its hinge between a use position, generally parallel to the base, and an open position, generally adjacent one of the edge walls.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2003Date of Patent: February 7, 2006Assignee: Rehrig Pacific CompanyInventor: Michael P. Wong
