  • Publication number: 20100206293
Abstract: A gas burner for a cooking appliance includes at least one combustion chamber with a first gas inlet forming a substantially annular outer flame ring and a substantially annular inner flame ring. At least one flame channel is configured to trigger ignition of at least one of the inner flame ring and outer flame ring. In one example, at least one transfer burner port is in gas-flow communication with the combustible gas in the at least one combustion chamber.

  • Publication number: 20100175683
Abstract: A gas burner for an appliance includes a base and a cover. The base includes a wall peripherally formed about the base. The wall includes a plurality of slits extending through the wall and downwardly from a top of the wall. A cover is configured to be placed on the base and form a chamber in fluid communication with a gas conduit. The cover is configured to bound the slits to define a plurality of ports for releasing combustible gas exteriorly of the gas burner. The ports include an entry section near the inner surface and an exit section near the outer surface. Each of the slits includes a floor that is curved upwards from the entry section to the exit section.

  • Publication number: 20100104992
Abstract: An apparatus includes a gas burner assembly which includes a gas burner and a gas supply conduit. The gas burner includes a gas supply opening and a substantially cylindrical socket formed on the exterior of the gas burner around the gas supply opening. The gas supply conduit includes an opening at an end and a substantially tubular adjoining section proximate to the opening. The adjoining section is configured to mate with the socket and includes a substantially radial protrusion. The socket includes a substantially radial depression for receiving the protrusion. As the gas supply conduit is connected with the gas burner to establish fluid communication at the gas supply opening, the protrusion is engaged in the depression thereby aligning the adjoining section in a predetermined manner about the socket and restricting rotational movement of the adjoining section about the socket.

  • Publication number: 20090320823
Abstract: A gas burner for a cooking appliance is described. The gas burner includes a burner with an inner and outer wall positioned on a burner base, and a circular combustion chamber. The burner includes a plurality of angled fuel exit ports in the inner wall that swirl gaseous fuel into the combustion chamber. The burner also includes vanes on the base of the burner that swirl air drawn into the burner by convection.

  • Patent number: 5366595
Abstract: A loading mechanism places waste material into a porous rotatable cylinder that is mounted for relative rotation within an air-tight housing. Once loaded, the housing is sealed and oxygen is evacuated. A microwave heating device heats the waste material within the cylinder and breaks the waste material down into solid and fluid products. A drive motor simultaneously rotates the cylinder at high speed, creating centrifugal force on the waste material. The fluid products escape outwardly from the porous cylinder and are transferred to a heat exchanger chamber where they are cooled. A fractional distillation system stratifies the fluid products according to weight for purposes of recovery.
