  • Publication number: 20100217080
Abstract: The present invention provides disposable illumination sheaths as a sterile barrier between an imaging device and a patient. An exemplary sheath can generally be usable with any imaging system known in the art, for example, an endoscopic imaging system, and can be designed to cover and/or enclose portions of the imaging device that may be exposed to patient tissue and/or bodily fluids. An exemplary sheath of the present invention can be designed to cover and protect the imaging shaft, optics housing, camera housing, handle, imaging output and/or other electrical and component cords, as well as any other portion of the imaging device that may be exposed to contamination. A used sheath can be disposed of after a first procedure and a new, sterile sheath can be used for a subsequent procedure. In this way, an imaging device can be utilized repeatedly without the need for a full sterilization between each procedure.

  • Patent number: 7494096
Abstract: A method of maintaining an open-mouth state of a bag utilizes a device of suitable form retainable at or adjacent to a bag opening. The device includes an elongated dimensional component extending between respective opposed free ends and which device can assume a shape in the elongated dimension defining a non-linear path along which a circumference of the bag can be made to follow. A length of the non-linear path is greater than half of the circumference of the bag opening and less than the circumference, such that a circumferential segment portion of the bag is held in a position roughly corresponding to the non-linear path and a remainder of the bag circumference extends in an unsupported manner between the free ends of the device, spaced apart from the portion thereof guided along the non-linear path.

  • Publication number: 20080149188
Abstract: A modular block, useful for constructing liquid-storage tanks for water-recovery systems, is described. The blocks can support large vertical loadings, may be fabricated from synthetic materials, and can be assembled into a tank-like structure. Because of their small size, light weight and easy portability, custom-sized water-recovery tanks may be readily assembled and installed at competitive costs. The water-recovery tanks may be used to reclaim runoff rainwater from water-impervious surfaces.

  • Patent number: 7143778
Abstract: A feeder device for introducing treatment chemicals into a recirculating water stream from a swimming pool. The feeder device includes a housing having a top and bottom portions. A funnel-like hopper having sidewalls and an open bottom forms the inside of the top portion. A grid at least partially closes the open bottom of the hopper. The grid includes a top surface and a bottom surface. One or more chemicals such as chlorine are contained within the sidewalls of the hopper and supported by the top surface of the grid. A dissolving cup having a bottom surface and sidewalls is positioned within the bottom portion. The sidewalls include an opening or notch of a predetermined cross-sectional area formed therein. The bottom surface includes a center nozzle oriented vertically toward the bottom surface of the grid and an off-center nozzle adapted to direct the fluid horizontally in the dissolving cup.
