  • Patent number: 5931528
Abstract: A furniture system includes a chair with an articulateable tablet, and a table adapted to interface with the tablet. The chair tablet is supported by a support arm for articulated movement between a plurality of use positions in front of the chair, a side position generally beside the chair, and a vertical storage position generally below the side position and adjacent the chair. Additionally, the tablet is rotatable without translating the tablet so that it can be oriented in an optimal position relative to the table. The table includes a base adapted to stably engage a floor and a vertically adjustable tabletop. The chair tablet has a concavely shaped edge configured to abut and interface with a perimeter section of the tabletop. The chair is mounted on castors so that the chair is horizontally movable and rotatable to facilitate positioning the chair proximate the table, so that the chair and table can be manipulated to flexibly arrange a work surface with the size, shape, and location desired.

  • Patent number: 5816649
Abstract: A furniture system includes a chair with an articulatable tablet, and a table adapted to interface with the tablet. The chair tablet is supported by a support arm for articulated movement between a plurality of use positions in front of the chair, a side position generally beside the chair, and a vertical storage position generally below the side position and adjacent the chair. A latch attached to the tablet is configured to operate substantially only when the tablet is in the side position for releasing the tablet from the side position to the vertical storage position. The chair includes a seat assembly, a base including a castor-supporting frame, and a pivot for rotably supporting the seat assembly on the base. A table includes a base adapted to stably engage a floor, and a table top. A gas-spring-operated lift assist is operably connected to the base and the table top for selectively lifting/lowering the table top.

  • Patent number: 5802988
Abstract: A furniture system includes a table comprising a base adapted to stably engage a floor, and a table top assembly including a table top. The table includes a gas-spring-operated lift assist operably connected to the base and the table top assembly for selectively lifting/lowering the table top. An actuator button is positioned in a center of the table top and is operably connected to a release button for operating the lift assist. The table top can be operated by one hand by pressing downwardly on the button just hard enough to release the gas spring but not hard enough to push the table top downwardly, whereby the gas spring raises the table top. Alternatively, the user can press downwardly hard enough to both release the gas spring and force the table top downwardly against the force of the gas spring. The furniture system also includes a chair with an articulatable tablet adapted to interface with the table.

  • Patent number: 5309322
Abstract: A substantially planar insulating sheet of high temperature printed circuit board material (11) is used to form a leadframe strip (18, 19, 21) for a semiconductor package (20). The leadframe strip (18, 19, 21) includes a die attach opening (12) through the insulating sheet (11). A plurality of metallized areas (13, 22, 23) on the insulating sheet (11) form bonding pads (13) and package leads (22). Conductive holes (14) electrically connect the bonding pads (13) and the package leads (22).

  • Patent number: 5164683
Abstract: A series resonant circuit (17, 16, 22, 21, 19) is employed to minimize the area utilized to form an RF amplifier (10). The series resonant circuit (17, 16, 22, 21, 19) utilizes a capacitor (21) along with inductors (17, 19, 22) that are formed by bonding wires (17, 19, 22) which interconnect the components of the amplifier (10). The series resonant circuit is tuned to the second harmonic of the fundamental frequency applied to the RF amplifier (10). The area consumed by the series resonant circuit (17, 16, 22, 21, 19) is small thereby minimizing the amplifier's size.

  • Patent number: 5003930
Abstract: An unitary plastic training collar for animals is presented which includes end members which are slotted for forming a noose which can be used to restrain an animal, for example during training exercises. By pulling a leash attached to the collar the collar will slip tighter around the neck of the animal and when the leash is slack, the collar springs open due to the inherent memory of the polymeric material from which it is formed.

  • Patent number: 4979778
Abstract: A chair includes a support base, a back and a seat. A tilt mechanism connects the back to the base permitting the back to move from an upright position to a reclined position. A forward portion of the seat is connected to the base through a double pivot. A rearward portion of the seat is connected to the back through a single pivot. As the back tilts to its reclined position, the rearward portion of the seat moves rearwardly and downwardly and the forward portion of the seat moves rearwardly and downwardly lowering overall seat height and eliminating leg lift.

  • Patent number: 4583080
Abstract: An attachment for a walking cane to serve as audible alarm producing means and as a light projection lamp. The attachment has a hollow casing for mounting onto a cane so that a vertical portion of the cane protrudes from the front section of the casing and the horizontal portion of the cane protrudes from the rear section of the casing. Inside the casing, is a switch connected in circuit with an audible alarm producing device, a lamp and batteries. The switch is operable externally of the casing for selectively sounding the alarm or lighting the lamp. The casing has quickly separable and reengageable sections providing access to the interior or the casing for servicing the batteries. The sound actuating circuit may be arranged to modify the sound produced by the alarm device to increase its attention getting effect.
