  • Patent number: 7427071
Abstract: A divided driver device (5) for a mechanical face seal for non-rotatable assembly on a rotary component and for the transmission of a torque to a seal ring (2) held in non-rotatable manner on the driver device. The driver device (5) is divided in at least a single radial plane so as to form sections in the form of segments of a circle that are adapted to be clamped together to form a ring shape and furthermore, it is axially sub-divided into a divided retaining ring (14) for retaining the seal ring (2) and a divided mounting ring (16) for non-rotatable mounting to the rotary component. The rings (14, 16) are coupled together for rotation in common, as indicted by (24).

  • Publication number: 20060097456
Abstract: The invention relates to a divided driver device (5) for a slip ring seal to be mounted in a rotationally fixed manner on a rotating part and serving to transfer a rotatory force to a slip ring (2) that is held in a rotationally fixed manner on the driver device. The driver device (5) is divided in at least one radial plane while forming circle segment-shaped sections that can be joined to one another to form a circular shape, and is also axially subdivided into a divided retaining ring (14) for the slip ring (2) and into a divided mounting ring (16) for mounting in a rotationally fixed manner on the rotating part. The rings (14, 16) are intercoupled as indicated by (24) so that they rotate together. The retaining ring (14) has circle segment-shaped sections (141, 142), which are sealed from one another, can be joined to from an annular shape having a radial inner dimension that is greater than the radial outer nominal dimension of the relevant rotating part (6).

  • Publication number: 20030151208
Abstract: A seal element of a face seal device for sealing a rotary component relative to a stationary component, includes a pair of mounting portions spaced apart from each other and a bellows portion connected with and extending between the mounting portions. One of the mounting portions serves for non-rotational mounting on the rotary component and the other for mounting a seal ring thereon. At least the surfaces of the mounting and bellows portions which are subjected to a medium which is to be sealed are formed of a synthetic material essentially resistant to the medium. The one mounting portion includes at least a single screw bore essentially radially extending therethrough. A screw pin made of a ceramic material is inserted in the screw bore for clamping the mounting portion relative to the rotary component.

  • Patent number: 5722671
Abstract: A seal arrangement for sealing a shaft with respect to a housing containing a fluid comprises a face seal exposed to a buffer gas on a portion thereof facing away from the fluid. Disposed upstream of the face seal at the fluid said portion thereof is a collecting chamber for receiving a leakage of the buffer gas having gained access to the fluid-side portion of the face seal. The collecting chamber is in communication with an external separating means for separating the gas phase from the fluid phase of a gas/fluid mixture having collected in the collecting chamber. The fluid phase can be returned into the interior of the housing.
