  • Publication number: 20190043239
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for generating an audiovisual response for an avatar. An example method includes converting a first digital signal representative of first audio including a first tone, the first digital signal incompatible with a model, to a plurality of binary values representative of a first characteristic value of the first tone, the plurality of binary values compatible with the model, selecting one of a plurality of characteristic values associated with a plurality of probability values output from the model, the probability values incompatible for output via a second digital signal representative of second audio, as a second characteristic value associated with a second tone to be included in the second audio, the second characteristic value compatible for output via the second digital signal, and controlling the avatar to output an audiovisual response based on the second digital signal and a first response type.

  • Publication number: 20170232586
Abstract: An adapter for changing LED light bulbs can have a threaded fitting for attachment to the pole of an existing light-bulb changer. The adapter has a body, preferably formed of a rigid material such as a rigid plastic. The body has multiple teeth to engage the spaces between the cooling fins of the LED light bulb. The light bulb can then be unscrewed from its socket and lowered using the pole and the adapter. A new light bulb can be placed on the teeth, raised, and screwed into the socket.

  • Patent number: 9460634
Abstract: Systems and methods of digitally recording and reproducing tactile drawings are disclosed. The method includes moving a stylus over a path on the first tactile drawing medium to form a tactile feature thereon, and digitally recording the path of the moving stylus to generate digital path data. The method also include reproducing the tactile feature on a second tactile drawing medium operably disposed in a tactile printer based on the digital path data. The systems and methods include forming tactile drawings based on a digital graphics file, including filtering the digital graphics file to form a .RLD file suitable for forming a tactile drawing having features capable of being tactilely sensed.

  • Publication number: 20160230968
Abstract: An interchangeable adapter for changing a light bulb that includes a head piece that has a base plate with opposite first and second sides and that defines a platform at the first side. A primary gripping member extends from the platform of the first side of the base plate away from the second side. The primary gripping member is positioned substantially centrally with respect to the platform to engage the light bulb. A secondary gripping member extends from the platform of the first side of the base plate away from the second side. The secondary gripping member surrounds the primary gripping member and is configured to grip the light bulb. An engagement member extends from the second side of the base plate away from the first side for engaging a holder of the adapter.

  • Patent number: 9403401
Abstract: A thermal eraser for erasing tactile drawing features from a tactile drawing medium, along with methods of erasing tactile drawing features formed on a tactile drawing medium, are disclosed. The thermal eraser has a heated tip that can be heated to a temperature sufficient to cause the tactile drawing feature to flow back into the surface of the tactile drawing medium. The heated tip has a tip temperature that can be controlled by a temperature-regulating circuit. A set-point temperature can be used to set the tip temperature and maintain the tip temperature. The thermal eraser can be controlled by hand or by an electro-mechanical device such as a tactile printer.
