  • Patent number: 10151307
Abstract: A magnet pump for an auxiliary unit of a vehicle includes an inlet, an outlet, an electromagnet comprising an armature, a core, a coil and a yoke, a cylinder comprising an outlet opening, and an axial piston which moves in the cylinder. The axial piston includes first and second axial piston parts, a gap arranged between the first and second axial piston parts, and an axial through bore. A first non-return valve is biased between the first and second axial piston parts and against the axial piston. A second non-return valve is biased against the outlet opening of the cylinder. The first axial piston part is connected with/is integrally formed with the armature and is lifted off the second axial piston part. A fluidic connection exists between the inlet and the outlet via the gap when the first axial piston part is lifted off the second axial piston part.

  • Publication number: 20180078139
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for determining blood flow characteristics of a patient. One method includes: receiving, in an electronic storage medium, patient-specific image data of at least a portion of vasculature of the patient having geometric features at one or more points; generating a patient-specific reduced order model from the received image data, the patient-specific reduced order model comprising estimates of impedance values and a simplification of the geometric features at the one or more points of the vasculature of the patient; creating a feature vector comprising the estimates of impedance values and geometric features for each of the one or more points of the patient-specific reduced order model; and determining blood flow characteristics at the one or more points of the patient-specific reduced order model using a machine learning algorithm trained to predict blood flow characteristics based on the created feature vectors at the one or more points.

  • Patent number: 9854176
Abstract: Systems and techniques for dynamically capturing and reconstructing lighting are provided. The systems and techniques may be based on a stream of images capturing the lighting within an environment as a scene is shot. Reconstructed lighting data may be used to illuminate a character in a computer-generated environment as the scene is shot. For example, a method may include receiving a stream of images representing lighting of a physical environment. The method may further include compressing the stream of images to reduce an amount of data used in reconstructing the lighting of the physical environment and may further include outputting the compressed stream of images for reconstructing the lighting of the physical environment using the compressed stream, the reconstructed lighting being used to render a computer-generated environment.

  • Patent number: 9846413
Abstract: A safety shut-off system and method are provided for eliminating power to a load in the event of smoke detection. The system may comprise a device located at the appliance for detecting a signal from a smoke detector, and cutting power to the appliance only when the appliance is in use. The device may be synchronized with any standard smoke alarm signal to reduce the number of false positive shut-offs. The system may also comprise a smoke alarm hard-wired to a circuit breaker, for shutting off power to all appliances on a particular breaker upon receipt of a signal from the smoke alarm, and only when the appliances on the breaker are in use. The system may also have the ability to shut off one breaker, multiple breakers, or all breakers at different time increments to actively prevent and reduce the damages caused by fires.

  • Patent number: 9730696
Abstract: A surgical pin compressive wound dressing housing is described as a device that couples with a wound dressing material or sponge of a specific type and provides a protective closed environment for the surgical point of entry wound where surgical pins or wires are applied. In addition, this device serves to stabilize such surgical pins or wires as they protrude from the surgically made pin site wound upon a patient's skin. Such pins or wires are often utilized, but not limited to, the fixation of fractured bones or when anatomic stabilization is needed. The unique cup like design of the wound dressing housing allows it to couple with a specific type of wound dressing material that has similar geometric features. The top of the wound dressing housing has a central pin hole whereby a pin stem extends upward.
