  • Publication number: 20240087828
Abstract: Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) switches are disclosed. Parallel configurations of back-to-back MEMS switches are disclosed in some embodiments. An isolation connection of constant electrical potential may be made to a midpoint of the back-to-back switches. In some embodiments, a separate MEMS switch is provided as a shunt switch for the main MEMS switch. MEMS switch device configurations having multiple switchable signal paths each coupling a common input electrode to a respective output electrode are also disclosed. The MEMS switch device includes shunt switches each coupling a respective output electrode to a reference potential. The presence of a shunt switch coupled to an output electrode enhances the isolation of the signal path corresponding to that output electrode when the path is open.

  • Patent number: 7500461
Abstract: A rotary combustion engine includes a peripheral housing, side housing plates, a piston, and an eccentric shaft, where the triangular piston mounted on the eccentric shaft rotates between the side plates around an epitrochoidal orbit with a long and short axis inside the housing to form three working spaces, where the gas exchange is controlled by an intake port and an exhaust port. Fuel is supplied by an injection nozzle located on the short axis of the peripheral housing, and combustion is initiated by a spark plug located shortly after the injection nozzle in the housing relative to the direction of rotation of the piston. Nozzle bores in the injection nozzle are designed in such a way that, in conjunction with a multi-fuel injection system, they guarantee reliable ignition of the fuel during each cycle.

  • Patent number: 7264454
Abstract: A rotary combustion engine includes a peripheral housing, a front housing plate, a rear housing plate, a piston, and an eccentric shaft, where the piston rotates to form three working spaces separated from each other by the tips of the piston. Shaft seals and piston seals seal off the oil-carrying interior space of the internal combustion engine, and the piston is sealed off against the front and rear housing plates by arcuate strips, which are bounded radially on the inside by an envelope curve. The gas forming in the working space during the combustion phase is under high pressure. Some of this gas leaks around the arcuate strips and flows inward along the flat surfaces of the front and rear plates by way of ring-shaped channels in the piston, thus arriving in recessed areas inside the envelope curves, from which it is then escapes through vent channels.

  • Patent number: 7234924
Abstract: A rotary combustion engine with one or more working units, which include a peripheral housing, a front housing plate, a rear housing plate on the output side, an eccentric shaft, and a piston, where the eccentric shaft includes an eccentric, and front and rear sealing parts. Lubricating oil is conveyed by an oil pump from an oil tank through the eccentric shaft to first and second main bearings, and to an eccentric bearing, from which a bevel on the front sealing part conveys it to a piston space, from which it is conveyed by way of a bevel on the piston and a rear bevel back to the oil tank to close the oil circuit. The bevels direct the oil circulation from the front of the working unit to the rear, reduce splash losses, and increase the cooling action on the internal surfaces of the piston.

  • Patent number: 7234374
Abstract: An eccentric shaft for an internal combustion engine, especially for a rotary combustion engine, the working unit of which comprises essentially a peripheral housing, side housing plates, and a triangular piston mounted on an eccentric of an eccentric shaft, the tips of the piston moving along an epitrochoidal orbit inside the peripheral housing to form three separate working spaces, where the rotary combustion engine can have several working units. The eccentric shaft consists of several parts, which have radial teeth at their ends, by means of which these shaft parts can be connected positively to each other by the use of a tie rod. In rotary piston engines with more than one working unit, as many inner shaft parts of identical design as there are working units can be used in modular fashion to construct the eccentric shaft.

  • Publication number: 20060039814
Abstract: The invention pertains to a rotary combustion engine with at least one working unit, having essentially at least one peripheral housing, a terminal side plate, a side plate on the power takeoff side, and optionally at least one center housing, where a triangular piston in the working unit is mounted on an eccentric shaft and rotates around an epitrochoidal orbit, forming three working spaces, in which the combustion pressure produces high housing forces. To stabilize the working unit and to reduce the deformations caused by the pressures, the side plates, the peripheral housing, and optionally the center housing be welded together. In addition, reinforcement in the form of a binding element is used to further enhance the ability of the housing to withstand the housing forces and to realize components of smaller volume and lower weight.

  • Publication number: 20050186103
Abstract: A rotary combustion engine with one or more working units, which include a peripheral housing, a front housing plate, a rear housing plate or central plate on the output side, an eccentric shaft, and a piston, where the eccentric shaft includes an eccentric, a front sealing part, and a rear sealing part. Lubricating oil is conveyed by an oil pump from an oil tank through the eccentric shaft to a first main bearing, to a second main bearing, and to an eccentric bearing, from which it arrives by way of a conically shaped formation on the front sealing part in a piston space, from which it is conveyed in turn by way of a bevel on the piston and a rear bevel back to the oil tank to close the oil circuit. The bevels give a clearly definable direction to the oil circulation from the front of the working unit to the rear, reduce splash losses, and increase the cooling action on the internal surfaces of the thermally stressed piston.

  • Patent number: 6257372
Abstract: A scissor lift that achieves enhanced vertical travel of the deck for a given amount of horizontal travel of the legs. The enhanced vertical travel is achieved by overlapping the deck pivot point (i.e., the point at which a leg is pivotally connected to the deck) with the frame pivot point (i.e., the point at which a leg is pivotally connected to the frame) when the deck is in the fully lowered position. That is, the deck pivot point is lower than the frame pivot point when the deck is fully lowered. The pivot points can occur on the same leg or on different legs. The deck and frame pivot points can provide purely pivotal movement or a combination of pivotal and some other type of movement (e.g., translational movement). The above-described scissor lifts can be utilized to perform corresponding methods of lowering a scissor lift. In the method, the deck pivot is positioned lower than the frame pivot when the deck is in the fully lowered position.

  • Patent number: 5755816
Abstract: A tilt carriage assembly including a base frame and a carriage pivotally supported by the base frame. The carriage includes a bottom member adapted to support a container and a back member positioned above the bottom member. A manual locking mechanism is operatively positioned between the carriage and the base frame, and includes a lock control member positioned adjacent the back member. The lock control member is movable between a locked position where the carriage is secured relative to the base frame and an unlocked position. A step member is secured to and extends laterally outwardly from the carriage, the step member being engageable by a user's foot to facilitate tilting of the carriage. A side member is positioned above at least one of the side portions of the bottom member, and includes a beveled edge that facilitates loading a container onto the carriage. A conveyor device is secured to the bottom member for facilitating motion of a container relative to the bottom member.
