  • Patent number: 11423778
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for controlling the output of driver information to a driver of a vehicle, with the objective of entertaining the driver and/or the passengers of the vehicle and/or increasing the driver attentiveness of the driver. A database of points of interest or objects of general interest, a database of topographic information, a device for determining the whereabouts of the vehicle, and an evaluation device to which these information items are delivered, are provided. The evaluation device ascertains, from the current whereabouts of the vehicle and from the topographic information, which points of interest or objects of general interest are present in the driver's field of view, and outputs via an output device the driver information regarding the point of interest or the object of general interest which has been ascertained by the evaluation device to be located in the driver's field of view.

  • Publication number: 20220221678
Abstract: An optical element held in a holder has a first optical surface which has no rotational symmetry with regard to its imaging axis. The holder has at least one reference element, which defines a position and/or orientation of the holder in a predefined coordinate system which compensates for a difference between an actual pose of the first optical surface and a target pose of the first optical surface in the holder at least in one degree of freedom. The reference element defines at least one specific azimuthal position of the holder. Also provided is a method for adjusting the holder of an optical element that has at least a first optical surface, which has no rotational symmetry with regard to its imaging axis, to a difference between an actual pose of the first optical surface and a target pose of the first optical surface in the holder.

  • Patent number: 10940485
Abstract: A purification system and method may include a container receiving portion, pump, and magnetic field generating element. The container receiving portion may be configured to receive and support a container containing a mixture. Magnetic beads may be added to the container for separating a target substance from a remainder of the mixture. The magnetic field generating element may be movable relative to the container receiving portion between a non-working position remote from the container receiving portion and a working position adjacent an outer periphery of the container receiving portion. In the working position, the magnetic field generating element may attract the magnetic beads and hold them firmly against an interior surface of the container. While the magnetic beads are immobilized by the magnetic field generating element, the pump may remove the mixture from the container, leaving behind the magnetic beads bound tightly but reversibly to the target substance.
