  • Publication number: 20160309276
Abstract: The subject disclosure is directed towards calibrating sound pressure levels of speakers to determine desired attenuation data for use in later playback. A user may be guided to a calibration location to place a microphone, and each speaker is calibrated to output a desired sound pressure level in its current acoustic environment based upon the attenuation data learned during calibration. During playback, the attenuation data is used. • Publication number: 20160149540
Abstract: The present invention relates to a linear, high sensitivity, high speed trans-impedance amplifier (TIA) Which allows a large dynamic range of input current up to very large values, maintains high linearity and keeps constant output voltage, maintains the same frequency response across the full gain control range, provides very high input sensitivity and large bandwidth, and allows input current monitoring without affecting input sensitivity. In other words, the novel circuit disclosed herein provides for the feedback path to maintain the same level of feedback even while the output signal is varied. This allows a wide and stable bandwidth, as well as a monitor to be placed in the TIA.

  • Patent number: 9115560
Abstract: A seal assembly for sealing an annulus between inner and outer wellhead members includes an energizer ring formed of a high strength elastic material having inner and outer legs. An annular inner recess with grooves on its base is formed on an inward facing surface of the inner leg. An inner diameter seal ring formed of an inelastic material engages the grooves of the inner recess. An annular outer recess with grooves on its base is formed on an outward facing surface of the outer leg. An outer diameter seal ring formed of an inelastic material engages the grooves of the outer recess. When the energizer ring is coaxially inserted in the annulus, the inner diameter seal ring is compressively and permanently deformed into sealing contact with the inner wellhead member, and the outer diameter seal ring is compressively and permanently deformed into sealing contact with the outer wellhead member.

  • Patent number: 9057238
Abstract: A tree cap has a wedge type annular metal seal for capping and sealing a subsea tree and associated methods to energize the same. The tree cap includes a cam element having a lower end with a conical profile adapted to be disposed within a respective bore of the subsea tree. The cam element moves along an axis of the bore. The annular metal seal is disposed on an outer diameter of the cam element so that the cam element may compress the annular metal seal against an actuation member to seal the bore of the subsea tree. The tree cap includes a housing adapted to be disposed on and secure to the subsea tree. The housing carries the cam element and exerts an axial force on the cam element to deform the annular metal seal into sealing engagement between the tree cap and the subsea tree.

  • Patent number: 8746352
Abstract: A seal assembly for use between wellbore tubulars employs an inner seal ring partially circumscribed by an outer seal ring. The seal rings are axially slidable with respect to one another and can be made from pliable inelastic materials such as graphite or a fluoropolymer. The seal rings contact one another along profiled surfaces that are angled such that by axially urging the seal rings towards one another produces a bulge in the seal assembly directed radially outwards and inwards. The bulging seal rings come into contact with opposing sides of the wellbore tubulars to define a sealing surface. Axial supports at opposing lateral ends of the seal rings maintain the seal between the tubulars.

  • Patent number: 8622142
Abstract: A wellhead seal assembly that forms a metal-to-metal seal between inner and outer wellhead members. A bi-metallic U-shaped seal with legs having a low yield metal on the outer portions. During installation of the seal assembly, the legs of the seal are forced outward against the surfaces of the wellhead members, by pressurization of a interim non-metallic seal which forces a wedge into the U-shaped seal, causing localized yielding of the low yield metal to fill defects on wellhead member surfaces.

  • Patent number: 8599213
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for simulating natural media painting in a digital painting application (or painting simulation module) may more accurately simulate real world painting techniques than conventional painting simulation applications. The digital painting application (or simulation module) may provide a small set of physically meaningful parameters (e.g., canvas wetness, drying rate, and pickup mix ratio). By setting the values of these parameters (or overriding default values for a selected paint type), the user may better control the appearance of brush strokes made by a virtual paint brush on a digital canvas. For example, the length of a brush stroke, the amount of streaking caused by paint picked up during the brush stroke, and/or the mix of paint deposited from a pickup buffer and a reservoir buffer of a brush model may be affected by changing the values of these parameters, thus allowing users to create different realistic painting effects.

  • Publication number: 20130144559
Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein may be useful for use in landing identification. In this regard, a method is provided comprising receiving pulse information over a first time period, wherein the pulse information is indicative of an angular distance traveled by a first wheel, comparing the pulse information to a threshold value, and determining a likelihood of a landing event based upon the comparison. In various embodiments, a system is provided comprising a monstable multivibrator in electrical communication with a metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET), a resistor-capacitor network in electrical communication with the MOSFET, and a comparator that receives a voltage from the resistor-capacitor network and a reference voltage.
