Abstract: A method for treating an individual with IB-MECA to achieve a therapeutic effect is provided. The method comprises administering to the individual a dose of IB-MECA in an amount and for a time such so as to achieve a maximal blood level of less than about 1.60 nM.

Abstract: The invention is a process for making anode grade coke which comprises solvent deasphalting a residue feedstock to obtain an essentially asphaltene-free, resin-containing stream and coking the resin-containing stream in a delayed coker to make anode coke. The solvent deasphalting can make a deasphalted oil stream containing resin or separate deasphalted oil and resin streams. There can be hydrotreating of (1) a minor portion of the residue feedstock wherein the hydrotreated residue is fed to the delayed coker with the resin-containing stream, (2) the resin-containing stream wherein the hydrotreated resin stream is fed to the delayed coker, or (3) a major portion of the residue feedstock wherein the hydrotreated residue is fed to the solvent deasphalting unit.

Abstract: A system for two way communication under shallow water or between a swimmer and observer comprising a transceiver, a wire for conducting electrical signals connected to the transceiver, a watertight transducer housing that curvedly conforms to human heads incorporating a speaker/microphone transducer in watertight connection with the wire, an adjustable strap connected to the transducer housing so that it may be attached to a portion of a human body, and a hollow acoustic transmission tube in watertight connection with the transducer housing for sound transmission to an earplug which is inserted into a human ear.

Abstract: Trace metals, particularly As, Fe and Ni, are removed from hydrocarbonaceous oils, particularly shale oil by contacting the shale oil with quadrolobe alumina with or without a processing gas such as hydrogen or nitrogen at 500.degree. F. to 800.degree. F. at 250 to 750 psig and LHSV of 0.4 to 3.0 to deposit a portion of said trace metal onto said alumina and recover an oil product having substantially reduced amounts of trace metal.
