  • Publication number: 20050008068
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining one or more characteristics of a line, in addition to a device for determining one or more characteristics of a line that can be directly or indirectly connected to the device. Said device is configured in such a way that it can trigger the emission of a test signal on the line and determine the line characteristic or characteristics from the echo signal received via the line. The device has a signal transformation unit for transforming the echo signal or a signal obtained from said echo signal into the frequency range, the line characteristic or characteristics being determined from a vector that represents the intensity of individual spectral fractions of the frequency range.

  • Publication number: 20040258212
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for debugging xDSL line cards. An electrical connection is established by means of a test bus, between a line port to be tested and a testing line port which can be operated in the upstream and downstream direction with the same bandwidth. The testing line port is charged with a software which simulates a subscriber-side modem, and the successful establishment of a connection between the line ports represents a function confirmation for the line port to be tested.

  • Patent number: 5506842
Abstract: An interface (SSE) is provided for transmission of message cells appearing on an offering trunk (ZL) with a specific transmission bit rate and belonging to different virtual connections or virtual paths via inputs of an ATM communication equipment (ATM-K) designed for a lower transmission bit rate. This interface includes a plurality of processors (MBHE, SBHE1, . . . , SBHE3) connected to the offering trunk which have their output sides respectively connected to at least one of the inputs. Under the control of one of the processors as a master processor (MBHE), the message cells are cyclically distributed onto all processors and, subsequently, are forwarded by these processors to the ATM communication equipment, upon attachment of a sequence number that is valid at the moment for the respective virtual connection or respective virtual path.

  • Patent number: 5151624
Abstract: The invention relates to a multiplier circuit which is constructed from two multiplier cells according to the prior art. The disadvantage of different signal transit times in the emitter followers and the differential stages for the two input signals to be treated identically is overcome by arranging the transmission paths symmetrically. The limiting frequency of the arrangement according to the invention is no longer limited by the phase error, but solely by the switching time of the bipolar transistors employed, and is therefore higher than in a multiplier circuit according to the prior art. For all frequencies below the limiting frequency, given a phase difference of 90.degree. the output signal lies exactly in the middle of the modulation range.

  • Patent number: 5004939
Abstract: A CMOS-ECL converter contains a drive stage modified from the prior art and a connected output transistor. The driver stage comprises a resistor element and an n-channel field effect transistor. The resistor element can preferably be constructed with the assistance of a p-channel field effect transistor and is connected in series with the n-channel field effect transistor. The advantage of such an arrangement is that the capacitive load at the input of the CMOS-ECL converter is low because the resistor element or, respectively, the p-channel field effect transistor, offers no contribution to such an input load. The channel width of the p-channel field effect transistor can be set such that an adequately-high base current for the bipolar output transistor can be supplied.
