  • Patent number: 9694827
Abstract: An on-board vehicle computing system stores values in a memory of a first engine control unit (ECU) and stores corresponding backup values in a memory of a second ECU. In this way, the second ECU provides data backup functionality for the first ECU's data. The system may retrieve a backup value from the first ECU and restore the corresponding value in the second ECU using the backup value. In one illustrative scenario, if an original engine ECU (EECU) fails and a replacement EECU is installed, the system can retrieve backup values for vehicle speed limiter (VSL) parameters from memory in a cab ECU (CECU) and update the corresponding data in the replacement EECU with the backup values.

  • Patent number: 5908187
Abstract: The inventive device is a connector for mounting a vertical exhaust pipe to a truck cab. In one embodiment, the connector includes a bracket, a resilient member, a rigid bushing, a rod, and a clamp. The bracket is mountable to the cab in the proximity of the exhaust pipe. The resilient member is coupled to the bracket, and the bushing is coupled to the resilient member. The rod has an upper end and a lower end, and it is positioned through the bushing. The clamp has a brace attached to an end of the rod and a clasp that is attachable to the exhaust pipe. The rod is moveable axially through the bushing to correspond to vertical displacement between the cab and the exhaust pipe, but the rod is substantially prevented from moving laterally with respect to the cab to substantially prevent lateral displacement between the exhaust pipe and the cab. The resilient member is made from a material that dampens vibrations from the exhaust pipe to reduce noise in the cab.

  • Patent number: 5085326
Abstract: A load lock holder comprises a base plate for mounting the load lock holder to a wall of the tractor or trailer and multiple clips made of a resilient material mounted to the base plate, each retaining clip defining a clamping area for holding the load lock and a slot located on one side of the retaining clip through which a load lock may be forced before the load lock enters the clamping area of the clip. Additionally, a retaining gate may be used to provide an additional securing force to the load locks in the load lock holder. A cushion may be coupled to the retaining gate for positively engaging the load locks to prevent the load locks from moving relative to the load lock holder.

  • Patent number: 4864658
Abstract: A wrist mounted entertainment unit is set forth including a miniature television, calculator, radio, and clock combination wherein the aforenoted television is mounted in a first console separate and pivotally mounted to a second console housing the calculator, radio, and clock. The plural consoles are mounted upon an arcuate flexible mounting member with an underlying matrix of projections to space the consoles when mounted to an associated glove. The mounting enables circulation of air flow to protect the various electrical components from heat and damage associated therewith.
