Abstract: Vegetarian amino acid sources are combined to create a protein blend that closely matches human muscle tissue in terms of amino acid composition. “Closely matching” means that the amino acid composition of the protein blend is within five percent (5%) of the amino acid composition of human muscle for all of the amino acids of the human muscle. The protein blend can be used as food or food supplement to facilitate and bolster muscle anabolism for healthy humans desiring such result and also to treat and or ameliorate the effects of certain diseases and conditions such as sarcopenia, cancer cachexia, HIV wasting, malnutrition, primary muscle diseases (myopathy) and side effects of corticosteroid therapy.

Abstract: Formulations and methods of treatment and putative prevention for aging (anti-aging composition) and for diseases or conditions of all reactive oxygen species-dependant illnesses, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, cancer, hepatitis, and disorders associated with estrogen deficiencies including osteoporosis and breast cancer and for improving athletic performance of humans include resveratrol and two (2) or more of the following features or additional active ingredients: (1) slow release formulation of resveratrol; (2) pterostilbene; (3) quercetin; (4) fisetin, and (5) naringenin. Slow release is defined for the purposes of the present invention as releasing 95% of the active agent or agents in eight (8) hours through normal human gastrointestinal absorption.

Abstract: A novel biphasic pharmaceutial or nutraceutical composition delivers both an immediate and a sustained dose of a pharmaceutical or nutraceutical agent in the same unit dose. An oral unit dose of melatonin includes melatonin in a sustained-release matrix contained in a solid phase, such as a tablet of capsule, and also includes melatonin in a film dispersed on the surface of the solid phase. Approximately 80 to 90 weight percent of the total amount of melatonin of each unit is contained in the sustained-release matrix and the remainder in the film. The novel composition permits a mammal, including a human being, to both rapidly fall asleep and remain asleep for a desired period of time by releasing an immediate-release dose and a sustained-release dose of melatonin.
