Publication number: 20240143494Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus are provided to facilitate data structures for a datatype engine and provide inline compaction. The system receives, by a network interface card (NIC), a command to read data from a host memory, wherein the command indicates a datatype. The system generates a plurality of read requests comprising offsets from a base address and corresponding lengths based on the datatype. The system issues the plurality of read requests to the host memory to obtain the data from the host memory. The system obtains a byte-mask descriptor corresponding to the datatype. The system performs, based on the obtained data and the byte-mask descriptor, on-the-fly compaction of the obtained data, thereby allowing the NIC to return a requested subset of the obtained data.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2022Publication date: May 2, 2024Inventors: Keith D. Underwood, Robert L. Alverson, Christopher Michael Brueggen

Patent number: 11943559Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to providing live video. An example method includes, at a computer system, while in an editing mode for a presentation, receiving, via one or more input devices, a request to insert an object onto a first slide of the presentation, wherein the request includes associating the object with a source for live video; and while in a presentation mode for the presentation, displaying, via a display generation component, the first slide including concurrent display of the object and one or more visual elements, wherein: in accordance with a determination that the object is associated with a camera, the object includes a live video stream from the camera; and in accordance with a determination that the object is associated with a non-camera external device, the object includes a live video stream that mirrors a portion of a display of the non-camera external device.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2023Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: David A. Underwood, Gary W. Gehiere, Michael W. Greiner, Amy W. Hung, Scott G. Marnik, David A. Turner

Publication number: 20230249845Abstract: An artificial intelligence and/or machine learning (AI/ML) system for an aircraft can include an AI/ML module configured to receive one or more inputs from one or more aircraft sensors and/or information systems. The AI/ML module can be configured to calculate an AI/ML informational output based on the one or more inputs. The AI/ML module can include a non-deterministic model for processing the inputs and outputting the AI/ML informational output.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2022Publication date: August 10, 2023Applicant: Hamilton Sundstrand CorporationInventors: Michael J. Krenz, Darin Michael Underwood

Publication number: 20060127286Abstract: A device for cleaning a selective catalyst reduction unit by directing air or a cleansing solution directly into or out of honeycomb cells of the selective catalyst reduction unit. The device utilizes a plurality of orifices which are sufficient in diameter and number to cleanse honeycomb cells thereby directing air or cleansing solution into or out of each individual honeycomb cell. The device also utilizes a plurality of probes which are sufficient in number and diameter to cleanse the honeycomb cells. The invention also involves a method for cleaning the honeycomb cells and a method for producing the catalyst cleaning tool.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2004Publication date: June 15, 2006Inventors: James Underwood, Michael Underwood

Publication number: 20060015449Abstract: The invention provides a method for conducting a computerized auction of property according to a tiered restriction process. The sale or transfer of the proper can be restricted as to the community a potential buyer must be a member of an specific attributes of the buyer. The buyer is only allowed to bid on those assets for which is community and attributes match those specified by the seller. Sellers, such as government agencies, may set up and defined their own asset profile codes comprising community groups, which permit the seller to restrict the sale of a particular asset to as large or small a community group as the seller desires and enables the government agency to accommodate any regulations or procedures that might be in place of a particular asset.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2005Publication date: January 19, 2006Inventors: Michael Underwood, Forrest Simonton

Patent number: 6947906Abstract: The invention provides a method for conducting a computerized auction of government-held property that is subject to a tiered restriction process. The sale or transfer of a government-held asset can be restricted as to the community a potential buyer must be a member of and specific attributes of the buyer. The buyer is only allowed to bid on those assets for which his organizational community and attributes match those specified by the seller. Government agency sellers set up and define their own asset profile codes comprising community groups, which permits the seller to restrict the sale of a particular asset to as large or small a community as the seller desires and enables the government agency to accommodate any regulations or procedures that might be in place for a particular asset.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2000Date of Patent: September 20, 2005Assignee: GovDeals.com, Inc.Inventors: Michael Underwood, Forrest Simonton

Patent number: 6700762Abstract: A controller for a pulse width modulated electrical drive or a dual-mode, pulse width modulated/variable voltage inverter drive is coupled to sensors within a filter at the drive output. Upon detecting failure of the filter or filter components (e.g., a capacitor short or blown fuse) through the sensors, the controller either shuts down the drive or automatically switches the drive operating mode to an output mode which does not require filtering. Damage to the electrical system or downhole equipment from transmission of unfiltered or improperly filtered power may thus be averted upon failure of the filter or a filter component.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2001Date of Patent: March 2, 2004Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Michael Underwood, Ryan B. Ashbaugh, Norman W. Ritchie
