  • Publication number: 20180118420
Abstract: A tamper-evident container includes a base and a lid. A base extension and a lid extension are connected to a hinge to join the base and the lid together in a closed, pre-use configuration. A tab extends from either the lid extension or the base extension in a direction away from the lid and the base such that the tab extends beyond the hinge. The tab is joined to one of the extensions via weakened regions that can be torn when the tab is pulled to indicate that the container has been tampered with or opened.

  • Publication number: 20150266611
Abstract: A tamper-evident container can include a base and a lid. Each of the base and the lid can include a flange having a free edge that defines at least a portion of an outermost perimeter of the base or lid, respectively. The lid can include a tab that has an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface and a weakened region that borders a portion of the tab. When the lid is coupled to the base in a closed pre-use configuration, the lower surface of the tab is accessible from a lateral side of the container. The tab can be partially separated from a neighboring portion of the lid flange along the weakened region yet remain coupled with the lid and assist in uncoupling the lid from the base.

  • Patent number: 8322553
Abstract: A container can include a base, a lid, and one or more vents. The lid can be removed from the base and can be reattached to the base. Moreover, when the lid is attached to the base, it can permit self-venting of the container. Pressure within the container can cause the lid to move relative to the base so as to open the vents while the lid remains coupled with the base.

  • Publication number: 20100147848
Abstract: A container can feature one or more venting regions that can be sealed when the container is in a first operational state and that can provide fluid communication between an interior volume of the container and an environment external to the container when the container is in a second operational state.

  • Patent number: 6220116
Abstract: A rotary indexing table comprises a stationary gear mounted on a base, a rotary drive mounted within the base and carrying a first crank arm, and a planetary gear on the first crank arm engaging the stationary gear. A second crank arm is mounted on the planetary gear, and has a freely rotatable drive stub which engages and drives a radially directed force receiving member mounted on a rotatable table. The rotation axis of the freely rotatable drive stub overlies the circumference of the planetary gear; and as the planetary gear rotates, the drive stub is coupled to the force receiving member so as to freely move along it in a reciprocating manner. When the longitudinal axis of the first and second crank arms are aligned, the indexing table is locked in place and cannot be moved by an external force.

  • Patent number: 5159846
Abstract: An apparatus for rotatably moving and positioning an indexing table is disclosed. The apparatus of the present invention allows an indexing table to be quickly rotated between a plurality of index positions to within an accuracy of less than 0.001 inches on a repeated basis. Further, the apparatus has no looseness or physical separation between motion transmission elements while at or near each index position that would otherwise allow for externally induced movement of the indexing table. While at or near each index position, a first side of the cogs of a first planetary gear is kept in continual contact with the first side of the cogs of a main gear, and the second side of the cogs of a second gear is kept in continual contact with the second side of the cogs of a main gear.

  • Patent number: 4514616
Abstract: A safety mounting device includes two movable members mounted within a housing, the second movable member being sandwiched between the first movable member and a stop member and the first movable member being biased against the second movable member. Both movable members are movable along the longitudinal axis of the housing with the second movable member also being capable of tilting with respect to that longitudinal axis and rotating with respect to that longitudinal axis. The engagement between the two movable members is of a cam surface-cam follower nature. Movement of the second movable member along the longitudinal axis towards the first movable member, rotation of the second movable member from its home position and tilting of the second movable member relative to the longitudinal axis all cause the first movable member to be displaced from its home position along the longitudinal axis. This displacement can be used to trigger a switch for control purposes.
