  • Patent number: 10897693
Abstract: Methods and systems for using near field communication (NFC) protocol and logic to calibrate welding operations and systems are described. Further, methods and systems for using NFC logic and tags are described for networking, calibrating and linking components that comprise welding systems.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 10, 2017
Date of Patent: January 19, 2021
    Assignee: Lincoln Global, Inc.
Inventors: Edward Hillen, Michael Volzer, Nick Trinnes
  • Patent number: 10525544
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention are directed to welding systems having a welding power supply and wire feeder, where the power supply and wire feeder communicate over the welding power cables. In exemplary embodiments, the wire feeder communicates with the power supply over the welding cables using current draw pulses which are generated and recognized by the power supply. Similarly, the power supply generates voltage pulses which are transmitted over the welding power cables and recognized by the wire feeder.
