Michael W. Parslow has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 4661289
Abstract: The invention pertains to fabric-washing and -softening compositions comprising a combination of a cationic softening agent and a fungal cellulase. The compositions combine good cleaning performance with effective textile-softening performance on a wide range of natural and synthetic fibres.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 27, 1985
Date of Patent: April 28, 1987
    Assignee: Lever Brothers Company
Inventors: Michael W. Parslow, Jacobus R. Nooi
  • Patent number: 4650599
Abstract: Improved detergent powder compositions containing at least a detergent-active material, a detergency builder and sodium perborate monohydrate, and method of making such compositions are disclosed, the improvement being that a sodium perborate monohydrate is used which has physical characteristics of specific surface area (SA in m.sup.2 /g) and pore volume (PV in cm.sup.3 /g) such that the formula (SA+31.25 PV-16.25) is greater than zero. The detergent powder compositions comprising said specific perborate monohydrate have less tendency to caking during storage under high humidity climatic conditions and have the further advantage of maintaining their quick bleach delivery in solution owing to said perborate monohydrate which retains its rapid rate of dissolution despite water-uptake during storage.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 13, 1985
Date of Patent: March 17, 1987

Inventors: Pauline Farnworth, Peter F. Garner-Gray, Michael W. Parslow
  • Patent number: 4648979
Abstract: The invention pertains to detergent compositions for simultaneously cleaning and softening fabrics comprising detergent-active materials, a primary or secondary amine and cellulase. The compositions combine good cleaning performance with effective textile softening performance on a wide range of textile materials.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 27, 1985
Date of Patent: March 10, 1987
    Assignee: Lever Brothers Company
Inventors: Michael W. Parslow, Jacobus R. Nooi
  • Patent number: 4464273
Abstract: A fabric softening composition comprises an aqueous base, a cationic fabric softener, lanolin and a viscosity control agent selected from electrolytes, polymers such as polyethylene glycol, C.sub.12 -C.sub.40 hydrocarbons and halogen derivatives, C.sub.9 -C.sub.24 fatty acids, fatty acid esters of monohydric alcohols, C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 fatty alcohols or water miscible solvents. Preferred compositions contain 0.5-30% cationic softener, 0.25-40% lanolin (with a cationic softener to lanolin ratio of 20:1 to 1:20) and 0.5-50% viscosity control agent. The lanolin may be replaced by a lanolin-like material such as derivatives thereof or one or more of the active constituents of lanolin either extracted therefrom or derived from other sources. The viscosity of the compositions is generally less than 300 cP, such as 150-250 cP. The presence of lanolin enables concentrated products to be formed, particularly containing more than 10% lanolin.

  • Patent number: 4464272
Abstract: A fabric softening composition having a viscosity of less than 150 cP, preferably less than 100 cP comprises an aqueous base, a cationic fabric softener and lanolin. The compositions may optionally contain viscosity control agents and nonionic emulsifying agents. Preferred compositions contain 0.5 to 30% cationic softener and 0.25 to 40% lanolin, the ratio of cationic softener to lanolin being from 20:1 to 1:20. The lanolin may be replaced by a lanolin-like material such as derivatives thereof or one or more of the active constituents of lanolin either extracted therefrom or derived from other sources. The presence of lanolin in the composition improves the viscosity and performance thereof.
