  • Patent number: 12014374
Abstract: Methods and systems disclosed herein related to analyzing the risk of an identity-based transaction and offering the identity-based transaction to a risk exchange. An identity-based transaction may be a transaction that is initiated with a digital identity, and an assertions model manager may provide assertions about the digital identity for completing the identity-based transaction. The assertions model manager may use the assertions and information about the identity-based transaction to analyze transaction risk. A risk score for the identity-based transaction can be calculated, and then the identity-based transaction may be offered on a risk exchange.

  • Publication number: 20190177407
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to novel predictive methods and personalized therapies for treating dry eye disease (DED). Specifically, this disclosure relates to methods of treating a patient having DED by selectively administering a TNF? antagonist, e.g., a TNF? antibody, such as LME636, to the patient on the basis of that patient being genetically predisposed to have a favorable response to treatment with the TNF? antagonist. Also disclosed herein are transmittable forms of information, diagnostic methods, and kits useful in predicting the likelihood that a patient having DED will respond to treatment with a TNF? antagonist, e.g., a TNF? antibody, such as LME636.

  • Publication number: 20130254111
Abstract: Techniques for electronic signature processes are described. Some embodiments provide an electronic signature service (“ESS”) configured to facilitate the creation, storage, and management of electronic signature documents. The ESS may facilitate payment processing via an electronic signature document that includes or is associated with a payment form. When the signature document is presented to a user for signature, the payment form collects payment data (e.g., card type, account number, name) that is used by the ESS to process payment upon completion of the signing process.

  • Patent number: 6952972
Abstract: A force sensor with two force input elements to which the force to be measured and the support force are applied. The two force input elements are substantially rotationally symmetrical and are axially spaced apart, and the force to be measured and the support force are applied in a radial direction. A spring element, arranged axially between the two force input elements connects these elements and its load-dependent deformation is converted into an electrical signal. A substantially tubular cover connected to one of the two force input elements surrounds the spring element. The cover surrounds a portion of the other force input element, forming a circumferential gap. The cover has an inwardly projecting constriction that is spaced apart by a small axial distance from an opposite shoulder on the other force input element.

  • Patent number: 5108167
Abstract: A laser signal coupling device one embodiment of which comprises a transmitter where a laser diode is coupled to a single mode fiber optic cable through the use of a lens whose position relative the diode is kept constant but whose length is adjusted to obtain a beam waist for the focused beam at some predefined point such as inside the end of the fiber optic cable. Such a positioning of the beam waist can increase the yield by reducing the effect of alignment variations in axial, radial and angular directions as well as reduce noise from fiber end surface reflections. The same concept may be used to accurately focus signaling received from an optic cable, in a surface of a signal detector. Further, the concept may be used for focusing between optic cable of different types such as converting from multi-mode to single-mode fiber optic cable.

  • Patent number: 4915470
Abstract: An electro-optical module for facilitating connection between a fiber optic cable connector and an electrical circuit includes an interlocking tongue-and-groove design between the skirts of the module and an electro-optical active device. Within the electro-optical active device, a lens provides hermetic sealing to the case so as to eliminate the requirement for an additional window. A barrel providing partial enclosure for the lens is used to facilitate alignment with the fiber optic cable. Finally, the total module includes mechanisms so that exact spacing is obtained between the light source and the end of the fiber optic cable whereby the beam waist of the light when the device is used in the transmission mode occurs interior to the cable rather than at the surface to accommodate manufacturing tolerances, bending forces and to reduce noise generated by reflections, etc.
