  • Publication number: 20220137257
Abstract: Systems and methods to assess formation data are disclosed. The method includes partitioning a formation containing a plurality of rock types into a plurality of sections. For a section of the plurality of sections, the method also includes determining, for each rock type of the plurality of rock types, a probability that the rock type is present in the section. The method further includes assigning a value to the section of the plurality of sections based on a probability that the section contains one or more rock types of the plurality of rock types. The method further includes analyzing the formation based on the value associated with the section.

  • Patent number: 10145228
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include a method, apparatus, and computer program product configured to provide a probabilistic approach for real time drilling. In particular, the disclosed embodiments are configured to obtain real-time data gathered during the drilling operation to update a probability model of a formation that is used in determining whether to alter a direction of a drill path. The disclosed embodiments may be configured to provide a notification to a user indicating or suggesting that certain adjustments be made to the drill path based on the updated probability model. Additionally, the disclosed embodiments may be configured to automatically make the adjustments to the drill path based on the updated probability model.

  • Patent number: 6225063
Abstract: The present invention provides nucleic acid molecules capable of binding phospholipid membranes, and more particularly RNA molecules capable of binding and forming channels in biological membranes. In this regard the present invention provides methods for screening nucleic acid molecules that bind phospholipid membranes. The present invention also provides compositions of nucleic acid molecules capable of binding phospholipid membranes, as well as methods employing these compositions to alter the permeability or detectably label phospholipid membranes.

  • Patent number: 5871924
Abstract: The instant invention provides a method for identifying and preparing nucleic acid ligands capable of facilitating aminoacyl-RNA synthesis. The nucleic acid ligands are identified and produced by exposure of candidate nucleic sequences to a reactant under conditions conducive to reaction, wherein nucleic acid sequences having facilitative activity are able to facilitate or enhance a reaction between the reactant molecule and nucleic acid sequence. Included in the invention are specific RNA ligands capable of facilitating aminoacyl-RNA synthesis identified by the SELEX method.

  • Patent number: 5231007
Abstract: A method of systematically generating and isolating highly flavinogenic strains of Candida famata. The strains Candida famata GA18Y8-6#2 dgr and Candida famata GA18Y8-6#2#11 have been developed and produce yields of ca. 7.0 to 7.5 grams per liter per 6 days. The method includes a combination of iterative mutagenizing steps and protoplast fusion steps performed on the parent strain and the descendant strains which are selected following each step according to a screening protocol.
