  • Publication number: 20070097686
Abstract: A plurality of LED's, or electro luminescent strips, are disposed to project illumination to and thru, or towards, a diffuser; resulting in at least a portion of generated diffuse illumination being directed towards and upon the cylindrical surface of an article or part when disposed at an article illumination location. The article illumination location is established so that a centerline through the article is co-linear with a center line of the diffuse illumination projecting from, or reflected from, the diffusers. A housing may be provided for the LED's, electro luminescent strips and diffusers; or they may be otherwise arranged to coact to provide diffuse illumination directed towards the cylindrical surface of the part or other article.

  • Publication number: 20060131875
Abstract: A method of applying a self-tightening hose clamp including the steps of providing a self-tightening hose clamp having a flexible member with a substantially circular shape and disposed in a first plane. The flexible member being expandable from a first position defining a first opening to a second position defining a second opening, the second opening being larger than the first opening. The flexible member also having first and second spaced apart ends. The flexible member is expanded from the first position to the second position. A first tubular member is then received in the opening of the hose clamp and the hose clamp is translated in a first direction along the first tubular member. The tubular member having a hollow chamber extending therethrough. A second tubular member is placed within the hollow chamber of the first tubular member, and the hose clamp is translated along the first tubular member to a position overlapping the second tubular member.

  • Publication number: 20060032319
Abstract: A device is described for determining the torque which is applied to a turbine shaft (10), the determination device having at least one system for contactless measurement of the integral torsion of the turbine shaft (10) and a unit for contactless measurement of the restoring constant of the turbine shaft (10). Furthermore, a method is described for determining the torque which is applied to the low-pressure turbine shaft (10) of a turbine engine, which is distinguished in that, to determine the torque, the integral torsion of the turbine shaft is measured by a contactless method and the restoring constant of the turbine shaft is measured.

  • Publication number: 20050081624
Abstract: A field effect sensor is adapted for use in sensing level of fluids and powders. The sensor uses elongated, parallel electrodes disposed on or within the side wall of a tank. The longitudinal axes of the electrodes are parallel to the surface of fluid or powder contained in the tank.

  • Patent number: 6587207
Abstract: In a method for generating time markers of arbitrary points on moving components and an optical trigger device for performing the method, light from a broadband light source with a correspondingly short coherence length is split into two paths, namely a measurement light path and a reference light path, and is coupled into two optical waveguides, the light of the reference light path is at least partially coupled back and the light of the measurement light path is focused at a measurement point and reflected by the component passing through the focus, wherein the light distances in the measurement light path up to the focus and in the reference light path up to the coupling-back plane are of the same length within the coherence length of the radiated light, wherein the coupled-back light from the reference light path and the measurement light path is brought to interference and detected by a detector, and wherein a short modulation event occurs at the detector when the component passes through the focus.

  • Patent number: 6252446
Abstract: A method and an electrical circuit for converting highly structured analog signals arriving with variable pulse frequency into trigger pulses with an electronic circuit that locks the trigger pulses for a specific time, which is referred to as a dead time. The dead time being adapted to the current pulse frequency of the analog signals.

  • Patent number: 6098251
Abstract: A hose clamp is provided with a pair of radially outward bent terminal ends, which are squeezable towards each other to expand the clamp. One of the terminal ends is provided with a projecting tongue that cooperates with the other terminal end to function as an interlocking assembly. Each of the terminal ends is also provided with one of a projection or depression to secure the other terminal end thereto. The interlocking assembly maintains the clamp in an expanded state, while resisting uncoupling of the terminal ends in a lateral direction.

  • Patent number: 6038744
Abstract: A hose clamp is provided with a pair of radially outward bent terminal ends which are squeezable towards each other to expand the clamp. One of the terminal ends is provided with a projecting tongue which cooperates with the other terminal end to function as a stop member as well as an interlocking assembly. The interlocking assembly maintains the clamp in an expanded state while the stop member prevents the clamp from over expansion thereby maintaining its structural integrity.

  • Patent number: 5930974
Abstract: A platform and support permit one to walk over freshly tiled areas before the bonding agent cures, without disturbing or shifting the tiles. The support is arranged in the grout joints between tiles and is supported by the subfloor, not the tiles. The platform rests on the supports to provide a larger area for one to walk or stand on. The support is of a height which is at least as great as the height of the set tile. Platforms can cover one tile only or cover several tiles.

  • Patent number: 5557099
Abstract: A signal device for turbo-engines which, by way of moving blades arranged on a rotor, when passing through a defined circumferential position of the housing, generates signals which are precise with respect to time. The device includes a probe which has fiber optical waveguides for emitting and receiving light. An illuminating beam is emitted which is focussed in the direction of the rotor. The probe is arranged on the housing at a distance with respect to free end faces of the moving blades. The probe emits the illuminating beam with an elliptical cross-section, through which the moving blades travel, in such a manner that, on each corresponding free end face, an elliptical illumination spot is imaged whose large axis is aligned essentially in parallel to the delivery-side or suction-side edges of the free end faces. The signals are generated from the light reflected by the free end faces.

  • Patent number: 4028696
Abstract: A keyswitch for a keyboard which may generate either a first signal or a second signal is formed by a pair of saturable magnetic cores and corresponding drive and sense line wires that are molded into a unitary support assembly in a keyswitch housing. A plunger and a magnet assembly that is depressible relative to the housing and which supports at least one permanent magnet and a pair of compressible springs allows for the unsaturation of one core and the compression of one spring upon depression of the plunger to a first position and for the unsaturation of the second core by the compression of the second spring upon further depression of the plunger and magnet assembly to a character second position.
