  • Patent number: 5533796
Abstract: An endless belt design for endless track assemblies for use upon off-road vehicles, the belt assembly comprising an elastomeric belt reinforced by embedded fibers, a substantial portion of these fibers being embedded at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the belt especially in the area of the cleat mounting holes, so that the holes are restrained from elongation under shearing load from the mounting bolts by longitudinal components of tension in the biased or angled fabric strands.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 15, 1994
Date of Patent: July 9, 1996
    Assignee: LMC Operating Corp.
    Inventor: Micheal G. Beeley
  • Patent number: 5466056
Abstract: A cleat assembly for an endless track vehicle, wherein the grouser is retained upon the flexible belt by a clamping assembly which contacts the grouser in a single longitudinal line, substantially eliminating all bending forces in the cleat retaining bolts, so that stresses are maintained below the fatigue limits of the bolt material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 21, 1994
Date of Patent: November 14, 1995
    Assignee: LMC Operating Corp.
Inventors: M. Elmer James, Micheal G. Beeley
  • Patent number: 5201574
Abstract: The cleat assembly for the endless track of a vehicle, having a mounting bolt and nut combination wherein the threaded portion of the bolt is located remotely from the area of bending failure responsible for bolt fracture and cleat failure. An elongate bolt is used with threads at its ends remote from the belt, in combination with a nut having an unthreaded bore with threads only at one end thereof, the nut spanning from the bolt threads to bear upon the grouser.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 2, 1992
Date of Patent: April 13, 1993
    Assignee: Logan Manufacturing Company
Inventors: M. Elmer James, Micheal G. Beeley
  • Patent number: 4651451
Abstract: A ski run snow preparation apparatus having a snow-contacting blade which flexes laterally to provide an arcuate snow-contacting surface. The blade is pivotally mounted to a frame which is adapted to be secured upon the towing mechanism of a suitable tracked vehicle. Also mounted upon the frame is a remotely controllable mechanism, including a pair of hydraulic motors, to adjust the tilt of the snow-contacting blade in relation to the snow surface. The blade may operate under its own weight and that of the towing mechanism, or may be forceably pressed into the snow, as by vehicle mounted hydraulic motors provided to raise and lower the towing mechanism.

Date of Patent: March 24, 1987
    Assignee: Logan Manufacturing Company
Inventors: Micheal G. Beeley, Bruce W. Blair
  • Patent number: 4377094
Abstract: An improvement for a steering differential for a tracked vehicle comprising a liquid cooled, hydraulically operated disc brake, two of which are normally used upon the differential to brake and steer the vehicle. A number of stationary discs are keyed internally to a brake body, with a number of rotating discs dispersed therebetween and splined to a braking axle of the differential, the rotating and stationary discs being hydraulically compressed together to apply braking torque to the braking axle. Oil or other suitable liquid is pumped through the brake body and radially through grooves on the faces of the discs to prevent excessive heating of the discs and the brake.

  • Patent number: 4070876
Abstract: Apparatus for and method of vapor phase treating garments of natural protein or cellulosic fibers such as of cotton, wool, or synthetic blends thereof each hung in substantially wrinkle-free condition on a form, with moisture, formaldehyde and an an acidic catalyst like sulfur dioxide, comprising a series of separate cabinets each having an access opening and a conveyor system through the cabinets, and means for indexing successive generally equal sized batches of such forms with garments thereon sequentially through the cabinets for simultaneous exposure of the batches in the respective cabinets to different stages of the treatment and sequentially to exposure of each batch to all stage of the treatment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 20, 1976
Date of Patent: January 31, 1978
    Assignee: McGraw-Edison Company
