  • Patent number: 8161753
Abstract: An assembly including a stack structure made up of the following elements assembled together by brazing: the titanium-based metal piece; a first intermediate piece suitable for deforming to accommodate differential expansion between the metal piece and a piece made of ceramic material based on silicon carbide and/or carbon; a second intermediate piece that is rigid, having a coefficient of expansion close to that of said ceramic material piece and made of aluminum nitride (AlN) or of tungsten (W); and the ceramic material piece is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4910476
Abstract: High frequency amplifiers require neutrodyning to prevent the risks of self-oscillation generated by the existence of stray capacitances among the electrodes of the active component used in the amplifier. Grid tube amplifiers (such as triodes, tetrodes, pentodes etc.) are more particularly concerned. Instead of simply providing a variable inductive element, in parallel, on the stray capacitance between the input electrode and the output electrode, there is provided a star connection of three reactances between the input electrode, the output electrode and the reference electrode. Only the first reactance is variable. The others are fixed and are in a constant ratio independent of the frequency. Preferably, the variable reactance element is an inductive element, and the other two are capacitive elements. Thus, by means of this single, variable reactance element, it is possible to make a setting, at the same time, of the input or output frequency tuning of the amplifier and of the neutrodyning.

  • Patent number: 4302705
Abstract: A coupling electrode is placed within the vacuum envelope of an electron tube of coaxial geometry which is insulated from the anode of the tube by means of an insulator. The insulator is joined to the coupling electrode and the anode of the tube by means of flanged collars. One of these collars may serve to connect the coupling electrode to one or a number of external circuits. A capacitive coupling is established between a top cap of one grid of the tube, namely the grid cap located nearest the coupling electrode, and the coupling electrode. The distance and therefore the coupling capacitance between the grid cap and the coupling electrode can be made variable by mounting the coupling electrode on a deformable metallic bellows element.

  • Patent number: 4120643
Abstract: A mineral agglomeration process in which a layer of mineral on an endless conveyor is passed through a firing zone provided with suction windboxes below the conveyor and connected to a common firing suction duct, and then through a cooling zone in which the product is cooled by air drawn through the layer by suction windboxes connected to a common cooling suction duct. The process is regulated by measuring the temperature of the gases in the common suction duct of the cooling zone and using a signal resulting from a comparison of the measured temperature and a preset temperature to control the flow of gases from the windboxes in the firing zone.

  • Patent number: 4017760
Abstract: A device for suppressing parasitic oscillations in electronic power tubes of coaxial structure. It is constituted by an electrically conductive component of cylindrical form with a flange, containing an odd number of resonant circuits of the RLC type, with distributed constants. Each circuit comprising at least one inductance coupled to at least one capacitor. The latter are respectively constituted by an opening and a slot in said component. The circuits are tuned to the range of frequencies of the parasitic oscillations.

  • Patent number: 3939342
Abstract: A device for measuring an angular deviation by a space-time modulated heterodyne detection comprising a coherent optical radiation transmitter pointed at a target, a local transmitter of a coherent optical radiation having the same wavelength as the preceding radiation, a photovoltaic detector, means for focussing at a point on said detector the radiation reflected by the target, and means for converting the radiation of the local transmitter into a parallel beam and causing said parallel beam to impinge perpendicularly on the surface of said detector, wherein the means for space-time modulating the heterodyne detection are interposed in the path of the radiation from the local transmitter.
