  • Patent number: 6932162
Abstract: A pneumatic processing machine includes a pneumatic motor, a circuit for connecting the motor to a source of compressed air, a tool holder spindle, and a drive mechanism. The mechanism includes a selection element which can be moved to select a first method of driving the spindle and a second method of driving the spindle. A device for controlling the operation of the machine controls the carrying-out of a driving cycle which includes at least one phase for driving the spindle according to the first driving method, then a phase for driving the spindle according to the second driving method, then the stopping of the supply of air to the motor. A supply valve of the circuit is controlled mechanically by the selection element to interrupt the supply of compressed air to the motor at the end of the driving cycle.

  • Patent number: 6821063
Abstract: The tool comprises firstly a cutter support for being driven in rotation about a first axis of rotation that is to coincide with the axis of the orifice, and a cutter rotatably mounted on the cutter support to rotate about a second axis of rotation parallel to the first axis of rotation and spaced apart therefrom by a non-zero offset distance. A front segment of the cutter support has maximum radial extent relative to the first axis of rotation that is less than or equal to the radius of the orifice to enable the front segment to penetrate into the orifice during drilling. The tool is particularly applicable to drilling machines used in the aviation industry.

  • Patent number: 5908271
Abstract: A telescopic spindle for a machine tool. The spindle has a sleeve at its rear end and the end of the spindle can slide inside the sleeve over a "compensation" stroke C1, the sleeve being capable of entering inside the body of the machine to travel over a stroke C2, so that the total stroke of the spindle is equal to C1+C2. This serves to reduce the total amount of space taken up by the machine tool.

  • Patent number: 5613810
Abstract: A portable pneumatic power drill whose tool-carrying spindle is rotated by a pneumatic motor. According to the invention spindle speed is under the control of an electric motor as a function of the speed of rotation of the tool-carrier spindle and of instructions stored in a memory card, control being provided by two microprocessors. This provides operating modularity that is better than that of conventional power drills.

  • Patent number: 5372464
Abstract: A device is provided for fixing and locking a tool such as a pneumatic drill on a support or grid on which are mounted sockets. According to the invention, the tool is fixed by rotation of a crown and penetrating fingers of the crown into grooves in the socket under the action of a cylinder driving a toothed sector.
