  • Patent number: 8529199
Abstract: The invention relates to a locking device (13) that includes at least one locking system (16), intended to be placed on a first moving element (11), and a retaining member (17), intended to be placed on a second moving element (12), the locking system (16) having a first hook (18) designed to engage with the retaining member so as to lock the locking device (13). The locking system (16) includes at least a second hook (19) set back from the first hook (18) so as to engage with the retaining member in the event of the first hook (18) breaking.

  • Patent number: 6402092
Abstract: A turbojet-engine thrust reverser is provided with thrust reverser door assemblies each having a pivoting thrust reverser door (7). The thrust reverser door is connected to two pivots (22, 23) that rest on a support fitting (24) to constitute a structural frame that is attached to longitudinal beam cowling portions (20, 21) and a downstream cowling portion (3) of a stationary thrust-reverser structure in order to constitute a rigid assembly between the upstream and downstream cowling portions (4, 3). At least one primary mechanical lock (26) is placed on at least one longitudinal side of the door (7) and the interface loads of the lock (26) are absorbed by the beam cowling portions (20, 21).

  • Patent number: 6385964
Abstract: A thrust reverser for a turbojet engine is provided with at least one displaceable assembly including a displaceable cowling portion and a flap. The displaceable cowling portion and the flap each subtend stationary upstream and downstream cowling portions such that the displaceable cowling portion forms a portion of the external engine cowling covering a reverse thrust opening and the flap forms a portion of the outer boundary of the gas flow in a forward thrust position. In a reverse thrust position, the reverse thrust opening is uncovered, and the displaceable cowling portion and the flap are displaced downstream such that the displaceable cowling portion extends downstream, parallel to the longitudinal engine axis and above, without interference, the downstream cowling portion.

  • Patent number: 6079201
Abstract: A self-closing pivoting door thrust reverser is disclosed in which the linkage interconnecting the thrust reverser door and the thrust reverser panel redirects the forces acting on the thrust reverser door by the thrust reverser panel so as to provide a positive, self-closing force on the thrust reverser door urging it toward, or maintaining it in, the forward thrust position. The door actuator, the thrust reverser door and the thrust reverser panel are all pivotally connected to a link member at three spaced apart pivot points. When in the forward thrust positions, the line of force acting on the thrust reverser door by the thrust reverser panel passes through, or lies radially inwardly of the pivot axis of the thrust reverser door. Thus, the force of pressurized gases acting on the inner surface of the thrust reverser panel will urge the assembly toward its forward thrust position.

  • Patent number: 5782434
Abstract: A thrust reverser for a turbojet engine is disclosed having a thrust reverser door and a thrust reverser panel pivotally attached to a housing so as to pivot in opposite directions about the same pivot axis. An epicyclic gear mechanism interconnects the housing, the thrust reverser door and the thrust reverser panel such that the thrust reverser door and the thrust reverser panels move in opposite directions about the common pivot axis when moving between their forward thrust and reverse thrust positions.

  • Patent number: 5778660
Abstract: A thrust reverser for a turbofan-type turbojet engine in which the axial length of the fan housing is less than that of the turbojet engine cowling such that the movable thrust reverser baffles may be attached to the jet engine cowling and moved to an extended position wherein the cold flow gases emanating from the cold flow exhaust duct are redirected to provide a thrust reversing force. The baffles are movably attached to the engine cowling by a plurality of linkrods forming a deformable parallelogram kinematic linkage. Each of the linkrods has opposite ends pivotally attached to the movable baffle and to the engine cowling, respectively.
