Abstract: An arrangement for shifting a piece of furniture through an opening in a vertical partition, such as a wall of a vehicle includes a linkage system which maintains the orientation of the piece of furniture as it is moved between two extreme positions, wherein one of the positions is offset to be lower than the other position. When incorporated in a vehicle, the lateral offset between the two extreme positions is approximately equal to the height of the floor of the vehicle above a ground surface so that if the piece of furniture is a kitchen unit, such as a stove, its working surfaces will be at the same height for use inside the vehicle as when used in the outer position outside the vehicle.

Abstract: A folding caravan in which upper parts of the side walls are foldable inwardly of the caravan from a vertical to a horizontal attitude. The caravan contains at least two pieces of furniture adjacent opposite said side walls, these pieces being opposite or partly opposite one another. The first piece which is tall has a stationary base and an upper part pivoted thereon to fold down onto the caravan floor. The second piece of furniture also has a stationary base and an upper part pivotably connected to that base by a parallelogram linkage permitting this upper part to swing off the base and sit on the folded down upper part of the first piece, thus allowing enough room for the upper parts of the side walls to be folded.

Abstract: A folding, rigid caravan with assisted erection. A base is carried by a chassis defined by a floor and four lower panels, each of which has an upper edge. Two upper end panels and two upper sidewall panels are provided pivotal about the horizontal axes and disposed respectively either substantially horizontally within the upper opening of the base or substantially vertically as extensions of the corresponding lower panel when the caravan is folded or erected. Each upper panel has a thickness, side edges and two faces defining the thickness. A roof rests horizontally either on the base or on the upper panels, respectively, when the caravan is folded or fully erected and is movably associated with the upper panels by rollers engaging in guideways. At least one uni-directional extensible erecting element is provided connected to the base and to an upper panel to urge the upper panel to pivot permanently in a caravan unfolding direction.

Abstract: An article of furniture for campers having a stationary first storage cabinet movable from a first rest position forwardly of the first stationary cabinet to a second rest position on top of the stationary or first storage cabinet. A linkage system connects the two cabinets and has two symmetrical rigid levers pivotally mounted on opposite end sides of the stationary storage cabinet. Each lever has a longer arm and a second shorter arm therewith offset a given angle less than 90.degree. from the longer arm thereof. The levers are pivotally mounted on respective opposite end sides of the movable storage cabinet at a position of junctions of the two arms of each lever. The pivotal connection is made in a plane in which the center of gravity of the movable storage cabinet is disposed. A lift bar for lifting the movable cabinet is secured to the lever arms so that the movable cabinet can be readily moved from one rest position to the other.
