The cable further comprises an over-molding forming a sleeve around the joint and extending over the outer sheath on either side of the joint. The armoring and the outer sheath are cut and removed over a portion of length greater than the portion over which the intermediate sheath is removed, thereby defining, on either side of the joint, a shoulder and a step between the intermediate sheath and the outer sheath. The over-molding engages snugly over the shoulders and the steps to form a watertight seal therewith.
