  • Patent number: 7285244
Abstract: An automated device for biological analysis including a rotatable rotor, and at least one reactor supported on the rotor and including an agitator composed of a blade which can either be 1) supported on a lower portion of a biochip carrier formed at an angle to retain a small volume of liquid, or to apply the liquid on a biochip on the biochip carrier such that liquid spreads over a surface of the biochip and without forming an air bubble of the volume of liquid retained, or 2) enter completely into a body portion of the reactor to allow sliding of the biochip carrier.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 6, 2002
Date of Patent: October 23, 2007
    Assignee: Genomic S.A.
    Inventor: Michel Gazeau
  • Patent number: 6837843
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically extracting biological components from multiple distinct samples including a rotor supporting pendulous tubes and means for modifying the angular position of the tubes in a radial plane of the rotor independently of centrifugal force to cause a rocking movement of the tubes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 31, 2002
Date of Patent: January 4, 2005
    Assignee: Genomic S.A.
    Inventors: Michel Gazeau, Philippe Lare
  • Patent number: 6695236
Abstract: A device for grinding biological samples to extract DNA, RNA and proteins including a multiplicity of rotary hammers supported by a hammer-carrier block and a lower mobile tray, the tray being movable between an operating position close to the hammer-carrier block and a rest position away from the hammer-carrier block, each of the hammers comprising at least one conduit for distribution of liquid.

  • Publication number: 20030059930
Abstract: A reactor for biological analysis of biochips comprising a body and means for moving the biochip in relation to a surface of the body between a first position in which the biochip is close to the surface to define a first volume and a second position in which the biochip is moved away from the surface to define a second dynamically variable volume.

  • Publication number: 20010036425
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for the transfer of samples of micro-quantities of liquids, of the type which has a set of aspiration/delivery nozzles (15 to 22) communicating by means of flexible tubes with one or more syringes provided with a motor-driven piston, said nozzles (15 to 22) being mobile and supported by some mechanical means allowing one to modify the spacing between two consecutive nozzles (15 to 22) continuously and with constant spacing, said mechanical means having a number of identical deformable crosspieces arranged in parallel planes, each crosspiece being formed by a set of arms articulated at their intersections for the modification of the spacing between the nozzles, the nozzles being located at least at certain nodes, the nodes being aligned in a direction perpendicular to the planes of said crosspieces in order to form an equidistant grid of nodes with variable spacing increment allowing continuous variation between a minimum spacing and a maximum spacing.
