  • Patent number: 8988450
Abstract: Effective color-aware search of a collection of content associated with one or more images is enabled. Content and/or its associated images may be automatically associated with representative palette colors in a suite of color palettes. Color palettes may be of a variety of types and have a hierarchical structure in which lower levels enable increasingly subtle distinctions between shades of color. Color palette hierarchies may be effectively presented, and appropriate portions emphasized based on associated search result sets. Search result sets may be refined and/or reordered in accordance with color palette selections and/or representative confidences of color palette selections for items at least referenced therein.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 7720721
Abstract: Tools and techniques are described for analyzing interactions to identify dissimilar items that may contain synonyms. Methods described herein may retrieve activity records that represent interactions between a visitor and a server-based system, and may identify within the activity records inputs that the visitor provided during the interaction. The methods may identify items within the activity record that are associated with the inputs, and may access additional activity records that also contain the same inputs. The methods may then identify additional items within the additional activity records that are associated with this same input, and may establish similarity ratings for the two items, with the similarity ratings indicating a likelihood that documents respectively associated with the items contain synonyms.

  • Patent number: 5954452
Abstract: Heated hydrogen peroxide reagent under pressure is supplied to a well for underground remediation of pollution; the reaction with the pollutant is exothermic so that the high temperature of the reagent when injected is maintained as the reagent spreads. The remediation reaction is monitored by sensors, to regulate the supply of reagent and to shut off the supply automatically when the pollutant has been reduced to an acceptable level.

  • Patent number: 5148140
Abstract: The disclosed electrical fuse has a fuse link in a filling of sand and a binder that imparts high thermal conductivity to the filler. The binder is a shiny coating on the grains of sand extending from grain to grain. It is an amorphous coating. The exemplary binder is boric oxide, B.sub.2 O.sub.3.

  • Patent number: 4893106
Abstract: The disclosed full-range fuse provides excellent short-circuit and overload protection using various forms of fuse links, made of copper or copper alloys, or silver, including curtain fuse links, the short-circuit performance being enhanced by solidifying the sand or other granular fill with a binder, notably a silicate or boric acid, the overload interruption being enhanced by boric acid that is distributed throughout the fill.

  • Patent number: 4563556
Abstract: An internal combustion electrical circuit breaker comprising at least one: (a) insulating cylinder; (b) pair of electrical conductors penetrating the cylinder approximately perpendicular to its longitudinal axis at a distance from both cylinder's plane sides; (c) conducting hollow piston contacting the conductors and an insulating pipe at its open portion, which pipe extends within that axis and penetrates the cylinder's first plane side; (d) arcing chamber extending from that plane side to the conductors; (e) pair of arcing blades within the arcing chamber at a distance from the conductors, piston and pipe; (f) valves within the pipe and first plane side, communicating with the arcing chamber and hollow piston; (g) combustion chamber extending from the piston's closed portion to the cylinder's second plane side; and (h) ignition, gas injection and valve means within the plane side and communicating with the combustion chamber.
