  • Patent number: 4697683
Abstract: A clutch disk comprises an annular plane support member at the periphery of which are elastically deformable parts adapted to deform when the disk is subjected to axial compression. Two friction facing members are disposed one on each side of the support member and locally attached to the deformable parts. Thus the portion of the disk comprising the friction facing members is elastically compressible between an expanded inoperative configuration and a flattened operative configuration. The deformable parts are substantially plane in the inoperative configuration. The friction facing members have inside surfaces on which are bosses alternating with recesses and the friction facing members are attached to the deformable parts by means of these bosses. The bosses on each friction facing member are aligned with the recesses on the other member.

  • Patent number: 4697682
Abstract: A torsional damper device, for use in friction disks in automobile vehicle clutches, for example, comprises at least two coaxial parts rotatable relative to one another within defined limits and damper means adapted to oppose such relative rotation. The damper means comprise at least one friction ring, two annular members and an elastic prestressing member disposed axially between the annular members. The prestressing member is adapted to urge the friction ring axially against one of the coaxial parts. It and one of the annular members constitute a pair of members of which one has at least one primary transverse land which is circumferentially subdivided and of which the other has at least two secondary transverse lands which are axially offset and circumferentially subdivided and each of which is adapted to contact selectively the primary transverse land.

  • Patent number: 4685896
Abstract: A torsional damper device, such as a clutch disk for an automobile vehicle, comprises at least two coaxial parts adapted to rotate relative to one another and a bearing disposed radially between them. This bearing comprises two separate parts, one on each side of a diametral plane of the device. Each is locked axially to a respective one of the coaxial parts and provides axial bearing support for the other coaxial part.

  • Patent number: 4674992
Abstract: A torsional damper device comprises at least two coaxial parts disposed to rotate relative to one another within defined limits of relative angular displacement. Circumferentially acting elastic means operative between these parts over at least part of this relative angular displacement resist same. A first coaxial part comprises a hub and an annular hub flange around the hub, constrained to rotate with the hub for one circumferential direction. A second coaxial part comprises at least one annular guide ring around the hub free to rotate relative to it in both circumferential directions. The device further comprises an annular hub counter-flange around the hub constrained to rotate with the hub for one circumferential direction. The hub flange and the hub counter-flange are each free to rotate relative to the hub in the circumferential direction opposite that in which it is constrained to rotate with it.

  • Patent number: 4669592
Abstract: A torsional damper device comprises two coaxial parts disposed to rotate relative to one another within defined limits of relative angular movement. One comprises a hub flange and the other two guide rings disposed one on each side of the hub flange. Spacers fasten together the guide rings and elastic means are disposed circumferentially between the coaxial parts, housed in openings in circumferential series in the hub flange and in each guide ring. At least one of the guide rings features U-shaped peripheral stamped portions each associated with one opening, being radially aligned with the respective opening outwardly thereof. A circumferential strip separates each stamped portion and the corresponding opening.

  • Patent number: 4655337
Abstract: A torsional damper device comprises at least three coaxial parts rotatable relative to one another in pairs within defined limits of relative angular displacement. Such rotation occurs against circumferentially acting elastic members operative between them over part at least of such relative angular displacement. A first coaxial part comprises a hub. A second coaxial part comprises at least one transverse annular hub flange around the hub. First teeth with clearance are disposed between the hub and the hub flange. A third coaxial part comprises at least one transverse annular flange around but having no direct relationship with the hub, parallel to the hub flange. The second part further comprises at least one transverse annular auxiliary flange around the hub, parallel to and associated with the hub flange. Second teeth with clearance are disposed between the auxiliary flange and the hub.

  • Patent number: 4580673
Abstract: A friction clutch disc comprises an annular support plate and annular friction facings on the respective sides of the support plate. Bores in the friction facings are generally in axial alignment with openings in said support plate, and rivets secure the respective friction facings to the support plate through pairs of aligned bores and openings. Each rivet comprises a shank, a first head at one end of the shank bearing against a transverse, and preferably flared, shoulder adjacent the axially inner end of the associated bore and a second head at the other end of the shank bearing against the support plate around the margin defining the associated opening therein. An annular protrusion coaxial with each of the bores in at least one of the friction facings is axially in alignment with and inwardly of the associated shoulder and is at least partly received in the associated opening in the support plate.
