  • Patent number: 5205240
Abstract: A method for the preparation and distribution of feed for animals, especially suitable for feeding piglets, includes a first step of preparing in a mixer a predetermined volume of a feed mixture of dry feed and diluting liquid. In a second step the feed mixture is distributed to the trough of each of the stalls, a volume of the mixture prepared in first step which varies according to the final volume of feed to be prepared for each trough. The third step requires diluting in each trough the feed mixture distributed in second step with a dilution liquid in order to obtain in each trough the final volume of feed with a predetermined concentration for each trough. The dilution of the third step is done by distributing the dilution liquid through the same conduits as that by which the mixture prepared in first step has been distributed to ensure cleaning of these conduits.

  • Patent number: 4677055
Abstract: A process for the immunobacteriological detection of pathogenic germs possessing specific antigenic determinants, and a kit for carrying out the process, with the aid of a magnetic gel to which are coupled anti-specific antigenic determinant antibodies, characterized by the following steps:(a) a biological medium supposedly contaminated by a pathogenic germ possessing a specific antigenic determinant is brought into contact with particles of the magnetic gel,(b) the particles of magnetic gel are then removed by magnetic means and(c) are inoculated onto a nutrient agar medium,(d) the agar medium is incubated to develop culture colonies of the pathogenic germs;(e) areas containing serum containing antibodies specific to the pathogenic germ to be detected are formed in the agar,(f) the germs are lysed by means of lysing agents,(g) the lysate is incubated with the serum for a time enabling the serological antibody-antigen reaction to take place by immunodiffusion on the agar, and(h) the quantity of germs containe

  • Patent number: 3930990
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for separating mixtures of hydrocarbons, notably conjugated diene hydrocarbons or aromatic hydrocarbons, from mixtures containing the same, by the general technique of permeation or pervaporation through specific membranes. The specific membranes used are formed of a high polymer comprising functional groups chemically combined by covalent bonding within the polymer forming the said membrane, the said groups possessing a physicochemical affinity, notably a capacity to complex, with respect to one of said hydrocarbons and, substantially, the absence of such a capacity with respect to other hydrocarbons of the mixture. For the separation of dienes, such as butadiene and pentadiene, membranes are used containing active nitrile, pyrrolidone, N-substituted groups, such as N-alkyl groups, preferably N-vinyl or N-methyl-pyrrolidone. The membrane can be obtained, for example, by copolymerization of butadiene with acrylonitrile, with the membrane containing about 2.
