  • Publication number: 20150209880
Abstract: An assembly to mount a reciprocating saw blade to a rotating shaft is described herein. The assembly includes first and second coupling elements for receiving the reciprocating saw blade, wherein said elements are rotatably coupled and reversely driven in unison by the rotating shaft of the table saw, said elements both rotating at the same angular speed along respective circular paths of different radii. The assembly being mounted underneath the table saw top so that i) a first coupling element which is furthermost away from the table saw top is movable along a larger circle than the other coupling element and ii) the line intersecting both circular paths during rotation of the first and second coupling elements converges at a fixed position above the table saw top so that the upper side of a panel is cut during the downstroke of the saw blade, and the bottom side of the panel is out during the upstroke of the saw blade, thereby minimizing chipping of the panel cut edges.

  • Patent number: 7491115
Abstract: An indexing device for successively positioning a tool element relative to an apparatus adapted to perform a series of operational tasks on said tool element comprises a base, a reciprocally movable support mounted on the base, a fixing member adjustably mounted on the support for fixing the tool element thereto, a pivotable arm mounted to the base and extending between the support and the apparatus, an indexing abutment mounted on the arm and positioned thereon to contact a part of the tool element. The support is moved in a first direction to bring the tool element in a task performing position with the apparatus. The movable support has a pusher to contact the arm and to cause pivotal movement of the arm when the support is moved in this first direction whereby the arm and the abutment are moved away from the task performing position. Thereafter, the arm is returned to a subsequent task performing position when the support is moved in a second direction opposite the first direction.

  • Patent number: 7089841
Abstract: An attachment assembly for mounting to a conventional bench saw having a frame, a work supporting table on the frame displaying an opening therethrough and a pair of longitudinal grooves on a top face thereof, a moveable structure mounted to the frame and carrying a power operated shaft. The attachment assembly includes a tool base detachably mounted to the top face of the table; releaseable securing means fixed in a pair of grooves connected to a tool base for mounting the tool base to the table; and a tool device mounted on the tool base including a tool shaft and transmission means operatively connecting the tool shaft to the power operated shaft whereby rotation of the power operated shaft is transmitted to the tool shaft for operation of the tool device.

  • Patent number: 5193428
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes an attachment assembly for mounting to a conventional bench saw; the assembly comprises a rigid member which is mounted to the power-operated main shaft of the bench saw. The member has two projecting rods at one end thereof which are adapted to engage a spring biased pin-carrying plate pivotally mounted to a movable structure of the bench saw; the function of the pins is to fixedly secure the rigid member to the movable structure after the attachment is installed and the tool fixedly set for a cutting operation. The cooperation of the projecting rods with the pins is such as to prevent vertical, lateral and angular movements of the member which would otherwise exist due to the reaction forces exerted during the cutting operation whilst permitting at all time controlled vertical and angular positioning by means of table saw handwheels.

  • Patent number: 5117722
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes an attachment assembly for mounting to a conventional bench saw; the assembly comprises a rigid member which is mounted to the power-operated main shaft of the bench saw. The member has two projecting rods at one end thereof which are adapted to slide on a pair of guiding pins mounted on a movable structure of the bench saw; the function of the pins is also to fixedly secure the rigid member to the movable structure after the attachment is installed and the tool is fixedly set for a cutting operation. The cooperation of the projecting rods with the guiding pins is such as to prevent vertical lateral and angular movements of the member which would otherwise appear because of the reaction forces exerted during the cutting operation.
