  • Patent number: 8676185
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting data exchanged by two terminals in a cellular radiocommunication network, each of the terminals being respectively associated with a base station of the cellular network. The method includes: identifying a shortened transmission path between the base stations, the shortened transmission path defining a direct transmission path for the data between the base stations without transiting via transcoding equipment present in the cellular radiocommunication network; and transmitting at least a portion of the data via the shortened transmission path, which is also called an intercellular loop-back operation.

  • Patent number: 8345585
Abstract: A method is provided for optimizing allocation of transmission resources in a mobile radio communication cellular network. The network has at least one base station controlled by a base station controller, and a connecting network connecting the base stations(s) with the base station controller, wherein setting up, maintaining and terminating a communications channel between a mobile station located in the cellular network are implemented by exchanges of signalling messages. The connecting network includes at least one radio link with shared resources between the base station(s) and the base station controller. Such a method includes: analysing content of all or a portion of the signalling messages, including searching for and detecting in the content of the signalling messages data indicating a traffic activity; and allocating or not allocating a resource channel in the radio link with shared resources according to data indicating a traffic activity.

  • Patent number: 8301131
Abstract: A method for transmitting data in a mobile radio communication cellular network, wherein setting up, maintaining and terminating a data communication channel between a caller and a called party located in the cellular network are implemented by the exchanges of signaling messages. A caller and/or a called party each is located in a local zone of the cellular network. The method includes: a first detecting phase if the caller and the called party of the communication are located in the same local zone of the cellular network, according to a detection strategy including a step of analyzing all or a portion of the signaling messages; and then triggering a local loopback operation of all or a portion of the data exchanged between the caller and the called party, in the case where the detecting phase confirms the local nature of the communication between the caller and the called party.

  • Patent number: 7184771
Abstract: A radiocommunication infrastructure includes a core network comprising switches and subscriber management means and an access network comprising a plurality of base stations capable of communicating by radio with the mobile stations and base station control means. Messages pertaining to services of an idle mode type are: broadcast by one or more of the base stations to be received by mobile stations in idle mode; and/or transmitted by the base station towards at least one mobile station in active mode, for which the base station control means store radio link management information, if said management information includes references relating to the services to which the service messages pertain. These references are received by the control means during a setup procedure which has caused the mobile station to enter the active mode.

  • Patent number: 5878033
Abstract: The messages are broadcast successively and at regular intervals to mobile stations on a particular radio channel of the TDMA network. They comprise service messages and schedule messages respectively associated with successive schedule periods, each schedule message including information about the distribution of the service messages which will be broadcast during the associated schedule period. For each service message which will be broadcast during a schedule period, the associated schedule message includes a cue indicating whether this service message has been broadcast during the preceding schedule period. The schedule message furthermore indicates, as the case may be, the broadcasts of service messages which are repetitions of service messages already broadcast during the period. Use in particular in cellular radio telephone networks.

  • Patent number: 5128925
Abstract: A process for the pseudo-synchronization of a time multiplexing communication network comprises the steps of measuring a time shift TM in reception by a mobile station of synchronization signals from first and second fixed stations, measuring the propagation times t1 and t2 of a synchronization signal between the fixed stations and the mobile station, and calculating the transmission time shift TR between the synchronization signals in accordance with the relationship TR=TM+t1 -t2. The pseudo-synchronization process can also be employed for geographically locating a mobile station.
