Abstract: Systems are provided for a cooling system for an electric vehicle. In one example, a system includes a plate arranged between separate circuit boards. The plate directly cools one of the circuit boards and block thermal communication between the circuit boards.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a winding reconfiguration assembly for an electric machine. The winding reconfiguration assembly includes a multi-position contactor device designed to switch stator windings in the electric machine between a first electric configuration in a first position and a second electric configuration in a second position. The winding reconfiguration assembly further includes an electromagnetic actuator configured switch the multi-position contactor device between the first position and the second position in response to a change in the polarity of a coil in the electromagnetic actuator.

Abstract: An inverter is provided herein. The inverter includes, in one example, a direct current (DC) bus bar assembly electrically connected to a capacitor and a current sensor and an electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering capacitor on a circuit board. The inverter further includes a power module electrically coupled to a capacitor and an alternating current (AC) bus bar assembly, where the AC bus bar assembly includes multiple phase bus bars.

Abstract: A method for estimating a junction temperature of a power transistor used in an inverter, comprising measuring a temperature-dependent characteristic of a power semiconductor comprising the power transistor used in a power semiconductor module adapted for use in the inverter, and estimating the junction temperature of the power semiconductor using the mathematical relationship between junction temperature and the temperature-dependent characteristic of the power semiconductor. Measurement of the temperature-dependent characteristic and estimation of the junction temperature therefrom is free from using a discrete sensing element.
