  • Patent number: 6133924
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to solve problems with a calculator capable of displaying a graph of a function in that the characteristics of a graph displayed by inputting a function can not be recognized when a desired display range is not at an appropriate value and in that a value to change the display range has had to be input on a trial and error basis, which has made the operation very complicated. A calculator according to the invention displays a graph of a function on a reduced scale, further displays buttons for increasing and decreasing display ranges of an X-axis and a Y-axis around the graph and changes the graph of the function and displays it again in response to instructions by the user on the buttons. This makes it possible to correct the display ranges of the graph of the function easily.

  • Patent number: 6061514
Abstract: A device for generating an assembler source program from a tree structure chart, independently of a type an assembler language, with common automatic generation rules allows a source line description in a condition determination box of the tree structure chart, prepares a table for each target assembler language, and automatically generates the assembler source program matching with the assembler language from the extended tree structure chart, without depending on the type of the assembler language, under the common automatic generation rules with reference to the table prepared for each assembler language. A LONG JUMP instruction and a SHORT JUMP instruction may be determined as different jump instructions.

  • Patent number: 5734382
Abstract: A portable electronic device has a function of drawing a box chart for statistical display. The device comprises a keyboard for inputting data, a statistical processor (for determining statistic values by performing a statistical analysis of the statistical data and for producing a box chart from the determined statistic values to visually show a plurality of statistics values as label together), and a display device for displaying the produced box chart with the statistical values, thereby displaying a means value, a maximum value, a minimum value and a standard deviation value as a box chart.

  • Patent number: 5712656
Abstract: Depiction of graphics which are displayed in combination with function graphs is accelerated. Graphics to be displayed on a display device in combination with function graphs are selected and drawn according to the graphic information stored in the graphic information storage area of the data storage RAM memory. The selection is executed based on whether the rectangular region of interest is even partially within the region to be displayed on the screen. The selected graphics are written to the display RAM as bit images by a CPU which operates under the direction of programs set in the program ROM, and displayed on a display device. The data in the graphic information storage area is displayed on a display device upon pressing an EDIT MODE key, edited by operation with an EDIT key, DELETE key, character keys, etc., and the display device is switched to the graphic screen with the modified graphic thereon, upon repressing the EDIT MODE key.

  • Patent number: 5586060
Abstract: The present invention provides a compact electronic equipment having a statistical graph display element for displaying a statistical graph based on statistical data and a calculation element for a calculation by using a statistic based on the statistical data to display a calculated result. According to the compact electronic equipment, statistics such as a process ability index can be automatically calculated. Upper and lower specification limits used in the calculation as well as the process ability index can be displayed together with the statistical graph.

  • Patent number: 5455905
Abstract: An electronic connecting system is arranged to have an electronic main body, a display device and a communication device connecting both of them with each other. The main body includes an input section, a first processing section, a first storage section, a first display section, and a first communication section. The data is input through the input section and is processed in the processing section based on the application stored in the storage section. The processed result appears on the display section and is sent to the display device through the communication section. The display device includes a second communication section, a second storage section, a second processing section, and a second display section. The input key codes and the application is sent from the main body to the display device through the second communication section. The application is stored in the second storage section. The processing section processes the input key codes based on the application.

  • Patent number: 5442743
Abstract: An electronic device for calculating and displaying a matrix of the invention includes a display having a screen portion for displaying a matrix, and a keyboard by which commands are input into a CPU. After receiving a matrix generating command from the keyboard, the CPU controls a display of the matrix in a row-column format in which each element of the matrix has an initial value. The CPU further receives values of elements of the matrix from the keyboard. One of the elements the value of which is to be changed is designated by a cursor on the screen portion.

  • Patent number: 5309380
Abstract: A calculator keyboard includes various keys such as numeric keys, a mixed fraction key, and a fraction key, a RAM, a ROM and a CPU. A character including a value or variable for a mixed fraction may be input and displayed separately as an integer, a numerator, and a denominator. Any of the characters in the mixed fraction may be edited subsequently. In addition, a fraction may be first input and displayed, and thereafter, an integer of a mixed fraction may be input and displayed. Consequently, unnecessary movement of the cursor is avoided in editing of fractions on the calculator display thereby facilitating easy and efficient operation.

  • Patent number: 5136505
Abstract: In an electronic translator apparatus, synonymous phrases (title data) and sentences in plural languages are stored in correspondence to each other. These phrases or sentences are read out and translated. This electronic translator apparatus stores the title data as a basic phrase and the explanatory data relating to the title data, thereby allowing a wide range of translation. The title data can be translated into plural languages which are displayed simultaneously. The title data and corresponding sentences are separately stored, thereby increasing the number of sentences that can be translated. The display method is varied depending on the necessity. If the sentence to be translated is long, part of the original sentence during displaying is ommitted and the translated sentence is displayed in whole. When translating into English, an article may be added or a plural form may be expressed so as to translate properly.

  • Patent number: 4908786
Abstract: An electronic calculator having a graph displaying function is adapted so that when a display range along only one coordinate axis is specified, an optimum display range for the other coordinate axis is automatically determined for displaying a graph within the display ranges. The remainder of the graph other than the portion thereof presented on the graph display is shown from portion to portion by scrolling along the trace of the graph in accordance with the result of the calculation being performed to determine the remainder. All of the data in a random access memory (RAM) can be transferred to an external device for the protection of the data when the device is connected to the calculator.

  • Patent number: 4866650
Abstract: An electronic calculator carries out input of data, such as numeric values, stores data therein, and performs operations and processing of the input data according to the operation of necessary function keys. Further, inputted matrix data is stored in relation to one code so that when operating the matrix data, the code is utilized for inputting an operational expression, whereby the procedure for inputting such data for operation can be considerably simplified. If it is desired to preserve input data, the data can be protected by preventing rewriting or redefinition thereof. Also, data processing is enabled which excludes any data abnormally different from other data, thereby enhancing the reliability of the results of the data processing.
