  • Patent number: 5714924
Abstract: The internal space of the case is divided into first housing portions and a second housing portion separated from the first housing portions by a partitioning wall. A positive characteristic thermistor element is housed in the second housing portion. At least two terminal members are provided, each with a contact terminal portion, a conductive portion and a lead-out terminal portion. The contact terminal portions are positioned in the second housing portion each in contact with one of the electrodes of the positive characteristic thermistor element. The conductive portions are electrically continuous to the contact terminal portions and are led to the first housing portions through the partitioning wall. The lead-out terminal portions positioned in the first housing portions, are electrically connected to the conductive portions and led out to the outside at the first housing portions.

  • Patent number: 5428493
Abstract: In a relay device, a first PTC thermistor has one end connected to a first external connecting terminal, and the other end connected to one end of a second PTC thermistor, the other end of which is connected to a second external connecting terminal, and the thermo-switch is thermally coupled to the first and second PTC thermistors, and connected in parallel with the second PTC thermistor. The thermo-switch is held closed when not heated, and is opened by heat generated by the first or second PTC thermistor. Therefore, the relay device is low in initial resistance, and small in power consumption during heat balance.

  • Patent number: 4973934
Abstract: A PTC thermistor device including a PTC thermistor element of a circular configuration, and a casing made of a plastic material. The casing has a substantially parallelepipedic body portion and a projecting portion having a pair of parallel side surfaces and a planar top surface. A terminal fitting is provided in contact with the PTC element and has plug portions projecting from the casing at the opposite sides of the projecting portion. The plugs has projecting lengths which are not higher than the height of the projecting portion of the casing.

  • Patent number: 4874924
Abstract: A PTC heating device is adapted to be used as a heat source for an electric vaporizer which is adapted to heat liquid medicine, e.g., liquid insecticide, aromatic liquid, or the like, to vaporize it. The PTC heating device includes a casing in which an electrode structure including at least one PTC thermistor having electrodes arranged on both surfaces thereof and two electrode members interposing the PTC thermistor therebetween is received. The PTC heating device further includes a heat-radiating member mounted through a heat-conducting member with respect to the casing and for heating an absorber having sucked up liquid medicine from a reservoir having the liquid medicine contained therein to vaporize the liquid medicine. One of the electrodes of the PTC thermistor is in close contact with a flat surface of the heat-conducting member through one of two electrode members, so that heat generated at the PTC thermistor is efficiently transmitted to the heat-radiating member through the heat-conducting member.

  • Patent number: 4728779
Abstract: A PTC heating device which is widely applicable as a heating source to a variety of electronic apparatuses such as an electronic mosquito destroyer an electronic jar and the like. The PTC heating device includes a porcelain casing in which an electrode structure comprising a PTC thermistor having electrodes arranged on both surfaces thereof and two electrode plates interposing the thermistor therebetween is received in a manner such that terminals of the electrode plates is downwardly led out through the porcelain casing. The PTC heating device also includes a heat radiating plate arranged through an insulating plate on the electrode structure and provided at flanges thereof with a plurality of holding pawls which are located at positions apart from the terminals of the electrode plates on a bottom surface of the porcelain casing to securely hold the heat radiating plate and the porcelain casing together and ensure an adequate insulating distance between the holding pawls and the terminals.

  • Patent number: 4644316
Abstract: A PTC thermistor device includes a heat conductive ceramic case having an aperture at one end and a groove recessed from the aperture; a plate-like PTC thermistor body having electrodes thereon, with a first major portion mounted in the groove in such a manner that a clearance is formed between an outer peripheral surface of the plate-like PTC thermistor body and the groove, and having a second minor portion extending outwardly from the groove; a heat resisting binding agent filled in the clearance, for conducting heat from the plate-like PTC thermistor body to the heat conductive ceramic case and for bonding the electrodes with the heat conductive ceramic case; electrode plates connecting a power source to the PTC thermistor body and having a portion extending into the aperture of the heat conductive ceramic case; and a heat resisting binding agent for sealing a space between the extended portion of the electrode plates and the aperture of the heat conductive ceramic case, such that stability against tempera

  • Patent number: 4635026
Abstract: A positive temperature coefficient (PTC) device, preventing silver migration effect and partial excessive heating, comprises a circular semiconductor PTC ceramic plate having a pair of first non-silver conductive layers attached on both surfaces of said PTC ceramics plate. A pair of second conductive layers, including silver, is attached on the first layers and an elongated periphery portion on the first layers is left without said second layers. A pair of conductive terminals couples the PTC element with an external circuit, each terminal having a convex portion to contact and support the PTC plate at the second layers so that the first layers do not directly touch with the terminals.
