  • Patent number: 6892459
Abstract: Reciprocating cutting tools (1, 90, 100) may include a drive source (11) for reciprocally driving a blade (B). The drive source may also drive a blower (13) in order to generate an air stream. An air channel (50, 56, 50, 70, 85, 80) may guide the air stream to a position adjacent to the blade or a workpiece (W) that will be cut by the blade. Further, a chip collector nozzle (57) may draw or suction cutting chips away from the workpiece that has been cut by the blade.

  • Patent number: 6260281
Abstract: A device for mounting a blade on a reciprocally movable blade carrier of a cutting tool includes a blade pressing member and a blade pressing surface formed on the blade carrier, so that the blade can be pressed against the blade pressing surface by the blade pressing member. A retainer member serves as a guide for the pressing member, so that the pressing member can move in a direction substantially perpendicular to the pressing surface between a first position for pressing the blade against the pressing surface and a second position for releasing the pressing force of the pressing member. An operation member is shiftable relative to the blade carrier and is operable by an operator for moving the pressing member between the first position and the second position. A ball is interposed between the pressing member and the operation member. A contacting surface is formed on the operation member, so that the ball can roll along the contacting surface.

  • Patent number: 6218633
Abstract: An electric power blower (1) includes a handle (5) mounting therein a disk-shaped speed change dial (9) which is capable of rotation on a shaft (10). The speed change dial (9) is disposed between a speed change switch (6) and a trigger switch (8) and has a cut-out (12) formed therein through which the trigger switch (8) can pass without interference, depending on the rotational position of the dial (9). The speed change dial (9) includes a stopper (13) at an free end which defines the cut-out (12). A first regulating surface (14) and a second regulating surface (15) are provided on the stopper (13), forming an angled corner therebetween. The peripheral surface of the speed change dial (9) is exposed to the outside of the blower (1) through two windows (18) in both sides of the handle (5) adjacent to the trigger switch (8) so as to allow manual rotation. The amount by which the trigger switch (8) is pulled into the handle is determined by the rotational position of the speed change dial (9).

  • Patent number: 6142242
Abstract: A pair of stoppers (47) capable of moving back and forth in an axial direction of a spindle (5) are provided on an outer periphery of a tubular portion (9a) for supporting the spindle (5). As a pair of projections (49) provided on a first change ring (32) are moved in conjunction with the rotation of the first change ring (32) which is capable of changing over the operating mode of a percussion driver drill, the stoppers (47) move back and forth in the axial direction. During a percussion mode and a drill mode, the stoppers (47) abut against a flat washer (50) for fixing an internal gear (13) to restrict the forward movement of the flat washer (50), while, during a clutch mode provided in the first change ring (32) as a third changeover position, the stoppers (47) move away from the flat washer (50). A pair of washers (40, 41) superposed on each other in the axial direction of the spindle (5) are interposed between the first change ring (32) and a second change ring (39).

  • Patent number: 5803147
Abstract: To avoid entanglement when a vertical blind is opened and closed, an attachment member is secured to a lead carrier and engages with an operation shaft. The attachment member is composed of a body having a length half the width of the lead carrier, and a snap detent projects from one end of the body. The body is formed by cutting an upper part of a horizontal cylindrical member and opening outwardly the cut edges of the body. The attachment member is attached to the operation shaft from the underside in an oblique direction such that the body engages with the lower part of the operation shaft and the snap detent snap engages with the upper part of a short jaw. Even when rotary moment is applied to the lead carrier, the attachment member holding the operation shaft counteracts the rotary moment, thereby preventing the lead carrier from rotating.

The mounting portion of the body includes a pair of engaging slots spaced from each other in a circumferential direction of the mounting portion. The base of the hook member includes a pair of engaging members disposed at both ends of the base in a circumferential direction for engagement with the engaging slots, respectively.
