  • Patent number: 8813904
Abstract: There is provided an urging mechanism that elastically urges a second end portion of a worm shaft that is supported so as to be pivotable about a first end portion. The urging mechanism is configured to adjust a backlash between the worm shaft and a worm wheel by elastically urging the second end portion in a perpendicular direction that is perpendicular to a direction in which an inter-axis distance between the worm shaft and the worm wheel increases and decreases, in a state where increases and decreases in the inter-axis distance is prevented.

  • Patent number: 8557904
Abstract: The invention provides a sealing device in which adhesion of an elastic member used for the sealing device is controlled, and a coefficient of friction against a member sliding against the sealing device is reduced. A sealing device includes a first member 1, a second member 2 moving relative to the first member, and an elastic member 3 fixed to the first member 1 and sliding against the second member 2, and is characterized in that: the elastic member 3 is made of a rubber composition containing a metal soap, an organic acid amide and an oil-containing particle.

  • Patent number: 6638054
Abstract: The invention relates to a worm wheel for use in a reduction gear, for example, and to a machine and a method for forming the same. The worm wheel includes a tooth having a tooth crest. At least the teeth are formed by injection molding a synthetic resin. The tooth crest includes a trace formed along a parting line as a result of the injection molding process. The trace does not exist on a surface of action of the tooth. The invention is suitable for applications demanding high contact gear accuracies.

  • Patent number: 5002289
Abstract: An oil seal comprises a seal body, a lip, and a plurality of ribs provided on a bevel facing a space without oil when the inner circumference of the lip is utilized. The plurality of ribs are included an angle with respect to the rotational direction of a shaft. Rear ribs with respect to the rotatational direction are set longer than the front ribs. Effecive oil recovery is enabled by the rib structure from the front ribs to the rear ribs.
