  • Patent number: 11591002
Abstract: An absorber of steering column shock energy includes a plastically deformable part forming a loop, a breakaway link closing this loop on itself, and a first attachment interface and a second attachment interface separate from the breakaway link and arranged on either side of the loop. The part and the fusible link are arranged so that the exertion of forces in opposite directions on the first attachment interface and on the second attachment interface respectively, causes a stress leading to a deformation of the loop, breaking of the breakaway link and further deformation of the loop after this break.

  • Patent number: 10449991
Abstract: A steering column mechanism (10) comprises a lower body (14), an upper tube (16) that is movable depthwise relative to the lower body (14) along an extension and retraction path, in a direction of retraction and in a direction of extension opposite the direction of retraction, and a locking mechanism (34) for locking the upper tube (16) relative to the lower body (14), movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A retractable stop (58) is movable relative to the lower body (14) and relative to the locking mechanism (34) between an active position and a retracted position. In the active position, the retractable stop (58) limits the travel of the upper tube (16) in the direction of retraction to an adjustment stop position, whereas in the retracted position, it does not interfere with the upper tube (16). The retractable stop (58) is linked to the locking mechanism via an interlock (65) in such a way as to be in the active position when the locking mechanism (34) is in the unlocked position.

  • Publication number: 20180257692
Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to a steering column that includes a steering member articulated in rotation to a support base intended to be fixed with respect to the chassis of a vehicle, a clamp so as to be able to lock the steering member on the support base, first blocking shapes borne by a mobile clamping element, and second blocking shapes borne by a sheet-metal plate blocked against the support base. The first blocking shapes are able, during locking, to come and engage between the second blocking shapes so as to block the rotation of the steering member with respect to the support base.

  • Patent number: 9487228
Abstract: The steering column having a lug, a casing, an inner tube, an outer tube, a steering wheel end-piece, and at least one adjustment gear motor. The lug is axially movable and the column includes a gear motor controlling the lug. Having a movable lug makes it possible to increase the stowing length of the steering wheel. The range of movement is the sum of the movements of the lug and the adjustment gear motor.

  • Patent number: 9168945
Abstract: A steering column including an upper body, two connection flanges for connecting the upper body to a support element, and a tightening and blocking device the upper body in position on an internal tube, where the tightening and blocking device includes a clamp screw extending through the flanges, a set of cams comprising a fixed cam and a movable cam mounted such that it can move freely in translation along the clamp screw and arranged so that it can bear on one of the flanges, a rack capable of cooperating with a notched arrangement provided on the other flange, and a resilient means arranged between the movable cam and the rack in order to exert a return force on the rack in the direction of the notched flange.
