  • Patent number: 8164526
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention are internal antennae for mobile devices. For example, an internal antenna for a mobile device that is a continuous length of wire formed into a collection of antenna features. Other embodiments relate to methods of manufacturing internal antennae for mobile devices; for example, manufacturing an internal antenna for a mobile device from a continuous length of wire. Still other embodiments relate to an iterative antenna production and re-design cycle. Preferably, antennae consistent with some embodiments of the invention include multiple radiator portions, a contact region, and integral configured to form a torsion spring of the contact region and parts of the radiator portions that reacts against displacement of the contact region toward those parts of the radiator portions.

  • Patent number: 7801552
Abstract: Generally, the systems and methods presented herein relate to suppression of certain near field electromagnetic radiation. For example, filtering may be provided to suppress electromagnetic radiation about a speaker module of a mobile handset so as to make the handset more compatible with hearing aids. In one embodiment, a mobile handset includes a speaker module and a power supply. The power supply may provide power and ground to the speaker module via circuit lines coupled between the power supply and the speaker. A filter may be configured with the circuit line used for providing the ground to the speaker module. In this regard, the filter may reduce signal radiation proximate to the speaker module thereby alleviating interference with a user's hearing aid device.

  • Patent number: 7564411
Abstract: A frequency tunable internal antenna includes a substantially planar radiating element with a feed point and a switching element all coupled to the radiating element. The radiating element includes a plurality of slots configured to form a first branch and a second branch within the radiating element. The plurality of slots are configured relative to the feed point such that in operation the first branch acts as a first resonator having a first native electrical length and the second branch acts as a second resonator having a second native electrical length. The switching element is configurable in a first position and a second position, where in the first position the switching element connects to a portion of the first branch to decrease the electrical length of the first resonator, and in the second position the switching element connects to a portion of the second branch to decrease the electrical length of the second resonator.
