Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for inflating airbags. The system includes a series of pair of pulleys arranged in two parallel rows. The two pulleys of the pair are in the first row and the second row. Each pulley having its periphery configured with a semicircular concave groove that extends between two edges, wherein the semicircular concave grooves of a pair of pulleys form a tunnel. Each pulley in the first row can rotate clockwise, while each pulley in the second row rotates anticlockwise. A cylindrical air tube can be positioned in the tunnel wherein the air tube is closed at one end and connected to a compressed air source at opposite end. The air tube has spaced apertures along its length, wherein the apertures are located at bottom of the air tube. An airbag with two flaps can be mounted on the inflation system, wherein the two flaps are pressed on the air tube by the pair of pulleys and each pair of pulleys can drag the flaps, and thus the airbag, forward on the air tube.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for inflating packaging airbags. The method for inflating the airbags include the steps of coupling an inflation port of the airbag to a nozzle of the inflation system, wherein a collar of the airbag adjacent to the inflation port lies between the cushions of the inflation system, the cushions are a part of pair of clamps. Thereafter the inflation system can be turned on resulting in clasping of the collar by the pair of clamps. The air compressor of the system operates to supply air under pressure to the airbag through the air pressure regulator. Once the airbag is inflated, the inflation system can be turned off, resulting in releasing of the pair of clamps, thus releasing the airbag.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an inflation system comprising a housing; a clamp assembly, the clamp assembly having an elongated upper clamp and an elongated lower clamp, the upper clamp having a proximal end and a distal end, the lower clamp having a proximal end and a distal end, the upper clamp is mounted to the housing, the lower clamp is pivotally mounted along a lateral axis, the lateral axis is perpendicular to length of the lower clamp and between the proximal end and the distal end of the lower clamp, the proximal end of the upper clamp and the proximal end of the lower clamp protrudes from an opening in the housing; an upper cushion coupled to the proximal end of the upper clamp; a lower cushion coupled to the proximal end of the lower clamp such that the lower cushion and the upper cushion faces each other, the lower cushion and the upper cushion forms a passageway; and an air hose having a nozzle at one end wherein a portion of the air hose and a portion of the nozzle are retained in the pa
