  • Publication number: 20100018769
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided that allows for the running of wires, cables, fibers or the like from the outside of a structure to its interior after construction is completed. The method and apparatus includes a conduit installed during the construction of the structure. The conduit contains insulating material and is sealed to prevent heat or cool air from escaping the structure. The conduit is installed onto an interior support surface and protrudes outward, with the exterior wall of the structure built around it. At such time when the addition of wire, cable, fibers or the like is desired, the conduit is unsealed, the insulating material removed, wires cables, fibers or the like are run from the outside of the structure to the inside, the insulation is replaced and the conduit is resealed.

  • Publication number: 20100018740
Abstract: A method and apparatus for adding wires, cables, fibers or the like from an accessible part of a structure, such as an attic or crawlspace to an interior room from within the walls of the structure, by installing an attachment section, tubing and penetration sleeves during the construction of the structure. The tubing is made from a compressible insulated material to prevent heated or cooled air from escaping prior to or after the installation of wires, cables, fibers or the like. The attachment section is secured to an interior support in the accessible area with the tubing attached to the attachment section. The tubing is compressed to prevent heated or cooled air loss through the tubing. The tubing extends to an access point, typically behind an interior wall. Structural supports such as plates and subfloors are penetrated using hollow rigid sleeves which when mated with the tubing, creates a continuous hollow passageway for the wires, cables, fibers or the like.

  • Publication number: 20100021123
Abstract: A method and apparatus for adding wires, cables, fibers or the like from an accessible part of a structure, such as an attic or crawlspace to an interior room from within the walls of the structure, includes installing a drop tube during the construction of the structure. The drop tube contains an insulating plug to prevent heated or cooled air from escaping prior to installing the wires, cables, fibers or the like. The drop tube is installed through an interior support and extends to an access point, typically behind an interior wall. The drop tube contains flexible barbs or fasteners that both secure the drop tube to like drop tubes so the desired length can be achieved and also allow for the insertion and securing of the drop tube into a penetration hole.

  • Publication number: 20090200075
Abstract: A method and apparatus for concealing and installing wires, cables, fibers, pipes and the like within a conduit is made from a flexible, paintable material, preferably plastic, metal, a composite paper material or the like. The conduit is customizable in size and shape from its original convenient flat state for installation within a structure. The size and shape of the conduit may be adjusted by cutting the conduit in its flat state to the desired length, and bending the conduit along scored indentations to allow for shaping the conduit into the desired form.

  • Patent number: 7196910
Abstract: An apparatus for routing and mapping a wiring system includes a wire routing system adapted to facilitate the routing of wires about a structure and a wire labeling system that permits labeling of each wire routed utilizing the wire routing system. The wire routing system includes a 2, 3, 4 module, a standard module, and a master module adapted to receive a connection from a communication service provider and output signals received from the communication service provider to any one of or all of the 2, 3, 4 module, the standard module, and end user devices. The apparatus for routing and mapping a wiring system further includes a wire management panel, whereby the wire labeling system attaches to the wire management panel and includes and a room label section, a wall label section, a box number label section, and a plate identifier label section.
