  • Publication number: 20060283024
Abstract: The present invention provides an anti-kickback device suitable for use on circular saws. Kickback occurs when the rotating saw blade engages with a workpiece in a manner which causes the saw blade to jam in the workpiece. The resulting forces can cause the circular saw to fly off the workpiece towards the user. A device, integral with the circular saw footplate, is provided which allows movement of the circular saw in one direction along a guide rail, but which prevents movement of the circular saw relative to the guide rail in a second direction, towards the user. This can be achieved by a device being integrally mounted on the footplate which jams the footplate to the guide rail when the saw moves in the second direction. This jamming of the saw to the guide rail prevents the saw from leaving the guide rail, and leaving the workpiece when the guide rail is clamped to the workpiece, when kickback occurs.

  • Publication number: 20060064882
Abstract: A jigsaw comprises a body housing a motor and a drive mechanism to convert the rotary output of the motor into reciprocal motion of the drive the blade. The body 1 is mounted on a shoe which has two forward projecting arms. A guard rail is mounted on the shoe at the front end of the arms and comprises a horizontal bar supported by upright portions which respectively engage the arms. The guard rail is formed from a single metal bar.

  • Publication number: 20060010597
Abstract: A track supported ceiling lift turntable for use in a patient transfer track system comprises a perimeter frame member, and a rotatable turntable track member operatively mounted on the perimeter frame member for rotation about a substantially vertical central pivot axis, for supporting a carriage having a patient lift mechanism suspended therefrom, in movable relation the rotatable turntable track member. A plurality of access passageways are disposed around the circumference of the perimeter frame member, and permit access of a carriage to the rotatable turntable track member from ceiling tracks and from the rotatable turntable track member to ceiling tracks. A motor or rope is used to rotate the rotatable turntable track member about the vertical central pivot axis to alignment with a selected one of the plurality of access passageways, to thereby permit access by a carriage having a patient lift mechanism suspended therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6944158
Abstract: A data switch includes multiple switching modules interconnected over a backplane. The data switch maintains flow integrity while path transitioning. The flow integrity can be maintained by temporarily disabling one or more of the switching modules from transmitting data units over the backplane for a flow undergoing a path transition. The disable condition is imposed when the path transition is commenced, and is lifted after the path transition is completed and an interval has passed ensuring that all data units for the flow transmitted to the backplane prior to imposing the disable condition have cleared the backplane. The backplane includes a multicast fabric and a unicast fabric, wherein flow path transitions are made from the multicast fabric to the unicast fabric upon source learning. All switching modules are temporarily disabled from transmitting data units having as a destination address an address undergoing source learning to the backplane.

  • Publication number: 20050120568
Abstract: A jigsaw drive shaft is connected to a blade by the blade clamp of the present invention. The blade clamp comprises a clamp body mounted securely to the drive shaft by a bracket. The clamp body has a hollow portion formed to receive an upper portion the jigsaw blade. The clamp body also includes a hollow tubular extension. A cam body is pivotable about an axis through a cylindrical bore such that cam surfaces move in and out of contact with an interior surface of the clamp body to engage or release the blade. A spring biases the cam body into engagement with the clamp body surface. The user must press on a protrusion of the cam body to pivot the cam surfaces way from the clamp surface and against the force of the spring.

  • Patent number: 6609676
Abstract: A cable reel is fabricated from wood and is of open or skeletal design while retaining the strength and ruggedness of traditional solid, metal reels. The reel includes two flanges which are constructed of a plurality of arcuate members fastened together at their ends to form an annular rim. A number of wooden spokes are provided for each rim. A main spoke spans the entire diametrical distance of the annular rim and is attached thereto. The other spokes extend radially from the center to the perimeter of the annular rim.

  • Publication number: 20030093326
Abstract: Method and apparatus to facilitate programmatic access to a network-based commerce facility via a network. The method includes receiving a request from a third party application via the network at the network based commerce facility. The request performs an action pertaining to electronic commerce and being one of a plurality of requests recognized by the network-based commerce facility. In responsive to the request, the method performs the action pertaining to the electronic commerce and communicates from a result of the action from the network-based commerce facility to the third party application in a programmatically accessible format.
