Abstract: An approach is provided for providing a low-power browsing experience on a mobile device. A proxy platform receives a request for a webpage. The proxy platform also receives information about the mobile device. The proxy platform processes and/or facilitates a processing of the information about the mobile device and sends the webpage to the mobile device in a format that is based on the information about the mobile device. The mobile device may then operate in a low-power mode when browsing the requested website.

Abstract: A method for providing enhancement of context intelligence may include receiving a first word representing a context at a processor, providing for a search of a database using the first word; receiving a second word in response to the search of the database, applying a weight to the second word, and causing the second word and the respective weight to be stored as relevant to the context. The database may include a remote database, accessed, for example, via the internet. The method may also include generating a third word in response to a sensor receiving an input, where providing for a search of a database includes using the first word and the third word. The method may optionally include generating a third word in response to a detected property of an environment, where providing for a search of a database includes using the first word and the third word.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for dispatching incoming application data on a computing device is disclosed. A dispatcher can determine a correct destination application for an incoming application data based on a registry and an application descriptor in the incoming data. In one arrangement, the dispatcher can be included as part of the Java Mobile Device Information Profile PushRegistry framework for handling incoming network connections. The dispatcher can be used in a multiple protocol environment, as well be used by multiple applications utilizing the same protocols.
