  • Publication number: 20220178705
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein are provided for determining a platoon configuration for a group of vehicles, determining a set of routes connecting two locations, determining for each route segment the platoon configurations supported and the availability of roadside units on the route segment, and selecting a route from the set of routes connecting the two locations. A route may be selected based on the availability of a roadside unit (RSU) to request an extended time period for a green light to enable a length of the platoon to traverse through an intersection prior to the time period ending. Systems and methods described herein may enable a reconfiguration of a platoon to meet a platoon size restriction for a segment of the selected route.

  • Publication number: 20210287536
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein are provided for detecting, by an approaching vehicle, that a path is blocked by one or more blocking vehicles and sending a series of negotiation messages to determine if the blocking vehicles are able to move out of the way. Capability and surroundings request messages are sent to each blocking vehicle to determine if each blocking vehicle indicates permission to move to enable the approaching vehicle to move along the path. Blocking vehicles also respond with three-dimensional data of the environment around each blocking vehicle. Feasibility of moving out of the way is determined and if feasible, each blocking vehicle is commanded to move out of the way of the path. The approaching vehicle continues traversing along the path if the blocking vehicles have been moved out of the way.

  • Publication number: 20210142526
Abstract: Some embodiments of a method disclosed herein may include: receiving a predicted driving route, sensor ranges of sensors on an autonomous vehicle (AV), and sensor field-of-view (FOV) data; determining whether minimum sensor visibility requirements are met along the predicted driving route; predicting blind areas along the predicted driving route, wherein the predicted blind areas are determined to have potentially diminished sensor visibility; and displaying an augmented reality (AR) visualization of the blind areas using an AR display device.

  • Patent number: 10921810
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein determine an optimal lane trajectory and route for an autonomous vehicle under changing road conditions and forecast autonomous car performance along a route. A road's profile is analyzed to determine a safe lateral lane position. In ice or snow, a vehicle may follow ruts made by previous vehicles, even if following such ruts does not place a vehicle in a lane's center. In warmer weather, a vehicle may drive outside the ruts to avoid risks of aquaplaning. Dynamic road conditions and AV support along a route are used to maximize AV use and to forecast AV performance. A vehicle control system calculates sensor limitations and uses these sensor limitations when calculating which route to select.

  • Patent number: 10730512
Abstract: Systems and methods related to dynamic map layers for autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles and allowing real-time (e.g. latency of less than one second) updates utilizing a plurality of available surrounding sensors (e.g., collaborative sensors), including roadside sensors and sensors of other nearby vehicles. When a vehicle detects an obstruction to a field of view of a sensor, the vehicle may request sensor data from other vehicles to fill the gap in sensor data of the vehicle. This allows the vehicle driver or vehicle illumination system to be focused on the obstructed area.

  • Publication number: 20160021049
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for visualizing threaded communication across multiple communication channels using a Mobile Web Server. A Mobile Web Server enables access to the messages received on a wireless communication device from the Internet using any web browser. Messages belonging to the same conversation, even if received on multiple communication channels (SMS, MMS, email, IM, Bluetooth, etc.), may be displayed in a threaded fashion. Once displayed on the web browser, a user may then view, create, edit, send, receive and filter the messages according to sender, receiver, time ranges, keyword/content, etc. A user does not have to be in physical possession of his or her wireless communication device to access received messages.

  • Patent number: 8069219
Abstract: A method and apparatus for facilitating access to mobile Web servers by any requesting entity from within a network. The mobile Web servers are allocated Uniform Resource Locators (URL), which are discoverable by the requesting entities through conventional use of search engines, service discovery mechanisms, registries, etc. A direct communication link exists between the mobile Web servers and the gateway to allow specific information to be obtained from the mobile Web servers and subsequently advertised by the gateway in the form of an indexed list. The indexed list allows the requesting entities to browse the mobile Web servers sponsored by the gateway for any location specific content/data that may be of interest to the requesting entities. The mobile Web servers facilitate the ability for the requesting entities to influence the content/data that is offered by the mobile Web servers.

  • Patent number: 7606533
Abstract: A method and system locate a transponder that has an associated identifier and content data, at a location substantially accessible to a user of the mobile terminal. The transponder is activated by the mobile terminal with a wireless signal. In response, the mobile terminal receives at least the identifier and the content data from the activated transponder at the mobile terminal. From the received identifier and/or content data, the method and system select one or more of the stored data items according to one or more criteria.

  • Patent number: 7340438
Abstract: A system and method manages and enforces user privacy of user data in a network environment in various manners. The system and method can determine a context for interaction with a party, filter user data to be provided to the party based on the determined context, and transmit the filtered user data to the party. The system and method can further determine an anonymity level at which interaction with the party is to be conducted, and interact with the party at the determined anonymity level. Additionally, to enforce user privacy, a privacy enforcement system can be employed at the receiving party and a trusted supervising authority can be utilized to supervise the access of user data received by the receiving party as well as to provide third party certification.

  • Patent number: 7194760
Abstract: The user's Bluetooth device substitutes a pseudonym address for the Bluetooth Device Address (BD_ADDR). The pseudonym address is a randomized version of the BD_ADDR. The pseudonym address is used in all the functions of the Bluetooth device that normally use the BD_ADDR, including the frequency hopping sequence, the device access code, the initialization key in link encryption, the authentication code, and the various packet addresses. In this manner, the user's privacy is protected by preventing the user's identity, routes, and activities from being correlated with his/her device's address. In addition to the Bluetooth standard, the technique also applies to other wireless standards.
