  • Patent number: 11964750
Abstract: A control system for an engine operatively coupled with a propeller and methods for controlling an engine operatively coupled with a propeller are provided. In one example aspect, the control system includes a controller and an electric propeller governor. The electric propeller governor includes a motor operatively coupled with a flyweight governor spring. The motor is communicatively coupled with the controller. The controller is operable to receive data indicative of the speed of the propeller, determine if the measured speed exceeds a propeller speed threshold, and if the threshold is exceeded, the controller is configured to change a propeller speed set point. Particularly, the controller can cause the motor to change the preload on the flyweight governor spring, which in turn causes adjustment of the propeller speed set point. In this way, propeller speed overshoot is prevented during fast acceleration of the engine.

  • Publication number: 20230121150
Abstract: A display panel (1) comprising a body of optical material, the body having at least one optical image recorded therein in an encoded manner, wherein the image is selectively reconstructable and viewable (5, 6, 7) by illuminating the panel (1) using at least one light source (3a, 3b, 3c) under selected illumination conditions, wherein the image is reconstructable and viewable (5, 6, 7) such that at least one first optical property or parameter of the reconstructed image (e.g. its geometry, position in space, colour, its dynamic appearance) is selectable in value from amongst variable values of the at least one first optical property or parameter, or whose value is actively modifiable over time, as a function of or in dependence on the value of at least one second optical property or parameter of the illumination conditions of the at least one light source (e.g.

  • Patent number: 11124309
Abstract: An engine control system includes a first user control lever configured for rotational movement between a first control position and a second control position and a second user control lever configured for rotational movement between a third control position and a fourth control position. The first user control lever is configured for operational control of an engine in a first control mode and the second user control lever is configured for operational control of the engine in a second control mode, such as a backup mode. A mechanical link couples the first user control lever to the second user control lever with at least one angular offset. As a result of the angular offset, the second user control lever can be maintained in a safe operating position relative to the first user control lever position.
